View Full Version : Lower level soloing?
I've decided to start a Guardian but I'm interested in how well they can solo at the lower levels. By that I mean say levels 1 to 30.I don't have a lot of time to play and I don't really like leading a party so soloing is what I'm interested in (I like grouping as a support class mainly since I'm not incharge or have to lead anyone or pull). Yet I do want to play a melee character.

Hmm well I can only speak from own experience, I have a 51 guardian, very well equipped with almost full fable/legendary and several masters and I can say this.

Do NOT choose a guardian if you want to solo, not under any circumstances except if you feel you must from a roleplay perspective.

We are great tanks aye, but forget all about solo.

Even after lvl 20 where you get the AA for 25% selfheal you will have titanic downtime for power/hp and can't do much either.

Guardian DUO is "ok'ish" with a healer but slow with no dps, Guardian group is great.

If you feel you must solo and must be a tank class, take Berserker, or maybe SK/Paladin I don't know.

I love my guard, but I also love grouping and leading, when I don't have a group I don't get xp to be honest.

Soloing a guardian has got better recently. It is probably still not as good as most other classes, but is doable.

Being T6fabled/T7 legendary I can solo pretty well, hell I take down a blue heroics with alot more ease then any other time since LU13, however, I can't say most are doing to do that as thier form of soloing. It took me quite a while and used most of my power (and an add would have made me run like a mage on SOW), but it can be done. However, you will probably be able to get a group, exp faster and have alot more fun, so as stated, soloing is probably not a guardians forte.

The biggest things I can tell you from my experience, its in the buffs and knowing how and when to use your CAs. And honestly despite what anyone will tell you, Adept1 just won't cut it as a guardian, for solo, for grouping and definitely not for raiding.

The others are right though, it is not easy and you don't get great loot because I can only take on green heroics, and then I have to be fully powered and hope no ADD's come. It is frustrating having to find a group just to venture into the first level of Stormhold when I'm in the high 20's (don't know if all classes are like that).

Like I said, you can get to level 30 soloing, but it is a grind and keep "Yell for Help" and "Sprint" on your hotbar.

The key to keeping a decent pace while soloing with a guardian is to complete as many quests as possible.
