<div></div><div></div><div>Back from the Scout class for a while,</div><div> </div><div>With the exciting launch of KoS i dusted my Guardian off and got him to level 60 over the insane XP weekend last week.</div><div>Yes, I removed him from the TS instance and starting killing stuff. I was grouped mostly with lower peeps that as well were trying to get to</div><div>60 asap.</div><div> </div><div>I was able to hold agro in a group of level 52-54 (myself being 58 at that time) without any issues whatsoever. I loved every minute of it.</div><div> </div><div>Now, I grouped yesterday in KoS inside Sanctorium of ..... (drawing a blank here), with everyone including me being a level 60.</div><div>We had an assasin, a wizard, a warlock, a templar, and an Inquisitor. We went way down to work on some of those sexy 65^^^</div><div>orange con xp containers.</div><div> </div><div>Here is the kicker, I lost agro ONLY 2 times due to the wizard over nuking twice. I was amazed. My guardian was working as I expected him to work.</div><div>He tanked like a champ. Even with some of my taunts resisting the first or even second time when I pulled, by the third time I usually got one in that would stick.</div><div> </div><div>Once the mobs were on me, i used my occasional group taunt and my goading assault and I kept agro.</div><div> </div><div>Also the power usage seems to be lot less that what it used to be.</div><div> </div><div>I cannot evac, fd, or inivs, and soloing still seems to take too long, but my tanking appears to be first class again. That is what I expected from this class.</div><div> </div><div>I love my guardian again!!! Thank you EQ2 team <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>Antedeluvian - 60 Guardian/Armorer - Unrest</div><p>Message Edited by StGeorg on <span class="date_text">02-23-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:29 AM</span></p><p>Message Edited by StGeorg on <span class="date_text">02-23-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:31 AM</span></p>

<div></div><div></div><p>One of the reasons you didn't lose agro is because you had an Assassin in your group. The Assassin would have had his hate transfer on you which is like 23% and since you were the only melee class in that group, he probably also had poison blades on you which poisons your weapons for more damage.</p><p>As a tank....Assassins are great to group with.</p><p>Message Edited by Sir MadDog on <span class="date_text">02-23-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:36 AM</span></p>

<div></div><p>Thank you for the info Sir Mad Dog. I was wondering why my sword hits seemed to proc'ing even when i was not hitting the mob. That explains it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>As you can tell i have not grouped with too many assasins so far.... hehe, cool class though, my swashbuckler has the same hate transfer.</p><p>Do casters have something similar? Sort of OT but curious...</p><p> </p><p>Thanks - Ante</p>

<div></div><p>Warlocks have a mana transfer that may have helped you in that aspect. But the group you had in an assassin, warlock, wizard, temp and Inquisitor would be a fun group.</p><p>A group I usually group with(non raid) is an assassin, warlock, necro, temp and fury. Assassin and necros covers the direct one mob dps, warlocks and fury for aoe's and then you got your heals. i'm not saying this is the best 6 man group(because I'm sure someone will argue its not) but it works for me.</p>
<div></div>Casters get concussion, which reduces hate on their next successful detrimental spell cast. Not a permabuff, but very nice if used when a caster might be pushing the hate envelope a little bit.

<div></div><p>Assassin hate buffs actually reduced their hate by 28% (Adept 3) and gives it to you! So your hate level was serious. Your Assasuge could go on any of the casters to reduce their hate so you could keep nice even agro control.</p><p>Guardians are OK at agro but to be good we have to have an Assassin or Swashbuckler. They both have that direct hate transfer. Dirges may also but I'm not sure.</p><p>Also, you had two cleric types with reactive heals that stack and the ward like thing that they put on you. You were just about the best healed you could be without more healers with instant type heals. You also had pretty much locked agro with the Assassin in group. Oranges would have been a pleasure with that group.</p>

<div></div><p>Dirges can place a buff on you which directly increases your hate generation, so it's not exactly a transfer but it definitely helps a lot. I wish there were more dirges around. </p><p>- Rorrak</p>

<div>Cool, thanks for the info all. So you are thinking that in any other group setup i would have had to fight harder for agro and would have to be more conservative with my CA's? What is your overall impression of the guardian class at the moment.</div><div> </div><div>I did a respec recently and put everything into Stamina which gave me about 500+ extra HP for tankage.</div><div>I like the way Inflaming Defense together with Re-inforcement works. Seems that a combination of those two</div><div>almost guarantees agro.</div><div> </div><div>What do you see as far as power consumption goes - are you doing ok?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks - Ante</div><div> </div><div> </div>
<div>dirge has to be about my favourite due to aggro buff and power regen with decent dps, but chanters also help our power and aggro difficulties, was nice to learn about assassins though i wasn't aware of that.</div>

<div></div>Good info. I almost always hunt with an Assassin and have hunted with a Swashbuckler on ocassion. The Dirge and Coercer are good information.
