I love this thread, great idea!In Permafrost I can't tell you how many "Benevolent Acts: A story about something nice that someone did for someone else that you happened to notice or be involved in, such as a complete stranger walking you through a quest." I have seen. Every member of The Dauntless (I admit I may be biased), Bort, Bortina, Savageknight, Auleena, Aidem, Deyja, Folgore I could continue this list forever.... just abosutely incredable people. Two events I remeber specific details aboutServer: PermafrostCharacter: Gaap - an officer in Silent Redemption. The event: One of the more notable examples of his kindness is his undying support in "The Journey is Half the Fun" We all know how much fun this quest is but Gaap tirelessly lead groups of his guild members, his friends, and complete strangers through it. Never once did he ask for money or even a thank you. I didn't even want to do this quest once, I can't imagine the patience it took to do it so many times! But he was always there and always supportive. Thanks Gaap you rock!Server: PermafrostCharacter: Wuudle - a member of Nexxus of FaithThe event: Aside from being a world class armorer, Wuudle is an incredable guy. When wandering around Qeynos one day, I ran across Wuudle, in /sigh blue armor. I waved, as we were previously aquainted, and continued on my way. As I went to leave he stopped me, and gave me two shiny hand crafted pieces of orange armor that were far out of my current price range! It made my whole week, not only did I have shiny new armor, but I also share a server with a generous guy! I've since retired the armor, but I will always remrmber this random act of kindess.

Thanks for this... it is a great morale booster!Server: OggokGuild: Ten Ton HammerGuild Site: EQ2.TenTonHammer.comOn February 26th, 2005 Ten Ton Hammer became the first guild on Oggok to hit level 20. Yes, this newer server is behind the others, but what makes the feat exceptional is that Ten Ton Hammer is a guild of casual players. They never set out to be first, but the mix of good people/players just keeps rolling along. All the best!BoomJackTen Ton HammerEQ2.TenTonHammer.com

<DIV><FONT size=2>Even though this was pointed out as a Benevolent Act already I'll add my 2cp on it.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Server:  Mistmoore</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Guild:  The Descendants</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Guild Site:  <A href="http://www.the-descendants.net" target=_blank>www.the-descendants.net</A></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Our lead quester Adewale has done over 900 quests.  With this said he is the guy we turn to when we need help, guidance, tips, tricks, etc...  Mostly though is he has done the quest "The Journey is Half the Fun" more times than any one person should have to.  Nek run after Nek run he keeps helping everyone guildie or no get any and every quest done and does so with a smile and a couple jests to make things more enjoyable.  Honestly without this guy around I would have hated most every quest I've done.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Varfleet, our guild leader and "old guy."  He's one of the people I regularly group with and there is never any down time with him around.  He always researches quests, comes up with ideas on what to hunt, and generally does all the dirty work so the rest of us can enjoy the game.  He does a lot of self sacrafice so the rest of us don't have to.   </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Both of these guys get a round of applause from me for what they contribute to our guild.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Server:  Antonia Bayle</DIV> <DIV>Characters involved:  Shelsy (The Furfoot Fellowship), Sakti (Random Acts), Malinki (Random Acts)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Background:  Random Acts has a long history of being a community-oriented guild.  Never even close to being considered an 'uber' guild, it's a family that cares for and about the community at large, and not focusing on raiding, advancement, or ph4t l3w7.  First Aid camps were our big thing in old EQ, and we always have a special place for going on corpse recovery missions with those stuck in bad places.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just the other night, whilst in Baubbleshire, I hear an ooc from someone (Shelsy, and boy is she gonna hate me for sharing this), saying she's stuck under the dock at the bell.  I run over and take a look, and sure enough, there's this cute little halfling wedged between the stone and the dock itself.  We both tried everything we could think of, including the patented SuperJump (tm).  No good, and she had several thousand seconds left before her Call was available again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I sent out the word.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sakti was in Thundering Steppes, I believe, waiting on her Dwarven Workboots, which were in the final process.  She was just waiting with baited breath to receive them.  But that's not important.  Someone stuck in a bad spot is.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I ran to a vendor and got an Oddysey Stone while Sakti called home.  She came to the dock and Oddysey'd Shelsy out from under the dock.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course, that was after we took the requisite embarrasing pics of a halfling that ate too much pie <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sure, she could have just waited until her Call was available again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Skip that noise.  We're here to help.</DIV> <P>Message Edited by Malinki on <SPAN class=date_text>02-28-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>09:35 AM</SPAN> <P><SPAN class=time_text>EDIT to include Shelsy's guild name and <A href="http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6psja/stuck00.jpg" target=_blank>http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6psja/stuck00.jpg</A>  -  <A href="http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6psja/stuck01.jpg" target=_blank>http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6psja/stuck01.jpg</A></SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Malinki on <span class=date_text>02-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:49 AM</span>

Massive Server-wide Raid(s) on Cauldron Hollow.Guk Server.People involved: BlueQuick, his guild Immortals. The great people from "Raid Chat Channel". Ratster led one of the other raids. (Over 50 players, I wish I could name names and guilds, but I had over 200 tells that night to deal with). We had over 50 people come out to Nek Forest Docks on Feb 13. The atmosphere was exciting with that many people jumping at the chance to kill Torig. Every other week we have held Sunday Night Raids, we had 20-40 show up. Most times we go into CH with 2 raid groups.Chat Channel Raid is a global chat channel with 22+ guilds on it. It is dedicated to finding groups of people with access quests done to keyed areas. It's the "Global Guild Alliance" channel.Torig was killed 3 times with 3 different groups on Feb 13.Best of all, these raids are done with people level 32-37. There ARE wipes. There ARE problems and danger. We do not have level 40 tanks and sit back and beat up on easy "greys".The loot we pull out of there is actually USED by the players who win the loot. We are a Ghoulbane Making MACHINE on Sunday nights. Here is the advertisment for Sunday Night Cauldron Hollow Raids:"Cauldron Hollow Raids are becoming a staple event on Sunday nights on Guk Server. We had over 50 people turn out last Sunday night. Cauldron Hollow is a coming of age test for all players levels 32-37. If you're in this level range, and haven't been to CH...you just aren't cool like the rest of us. AND YOU ALL WANT TO BE COOL DON'T YOU?"So far, Torig and his cronies have wiped 5 full groups. These groups ALL got up and got revenge though. Final score: Torig - 150+ (players killed), Guk Server Sunday Night Raid Players - 16 (Torig kills). (In April, will be posting how Sunday Night Raids take down Vox or Darathar 2-5 times a night).
