View Full Version : SOE Have you given up on Nagafen

  SOE you have GW2, diablo 3, SWTOR...two of which have come out and one soon to be released and nagafen has not seen a pvp update or even gotten an improvment to the current broken mechanics in over two years. Are you just hoping that enough of us quit to where you can say the server has a low enough population to merge it with another and get rid of pvp all together? Because that is what it's starting to look like.

They have, they also been intentionally ignoring the outcry of their paying customers. I for one have been spamming their EQII Facebook page about coming out with polls on many possible PvP stances. As a PvE'r that has embedded myself onto Nagafen, I see our population plummeting and that scares me because top 5 biggest guilds on Nagafen has died off to other games and soon we won't have a raid force on Nagafen, and I blame Sony for ignoring us.

Issue I believe they are having...

      While they focus all their attention on PvE content (since most of their community is PvE based) they seem to ignore the PvP because of the separation of EVERYTHING!!!!

In game Poll is needed with ACTION!!

~ No more separate gear (Get rid of PvP stats, it's ridiculous and you broke the system). The cries on Nagafen seem to support this and I'm tired of people suggesting this all day long in 1-9.

~ Have gear that is equivalent to the basic raid gear that is buyable with PvP tokens, but give them the ability to get the basic equivalent to the raid gear that the raiders are already getting (You can even copy the gear and change name, simple. Work smarter not harder!!)

~ Get rid of the writs, keep the few people out in the battlefield as much as you can. The constant running back to the guild bank just removes possible players from battle (Since server low already, that could be difference of seeing twice more people in Warfield’s or seeing half as much)

~ Have the tokens drop from corpses and faction earned per kill (Keeping the same pvp timer as 10people on recent)

~ Remove warfield token rewards, giving out the rewards for AFK'rs isn't pvp, and we shouldn't reward it as such. Nagafe will still go out to PvP at warfields to get the tokens from KILLING people. Stop rewarding people for being AFK!~ Auto suspend mercenary when a player gets engadged into PvP, Meaning to eliminate the exploiting of making players choose to wear PvP gear to fight the player, or leave the PvE gear on to fight the mercenary. Either way, your dead to this little exploit - REMOVE IT!!!!

~~~~ It's time to fix this server before the new MMO's come out and really destroy what is left on Son'y ONLY REMAINING PVP server!!!
____ Don’t debate my suggestions, just support one thing. IN GAME PVP POLL (Nagafen only) ____~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~CorpsmanupNagafenDisgruntled Vet
Yes soe neds to take care of all of its paying players and now even the free ones  the ideas that come  from the  pvp community are very good in most respects the only one i cant see working again is token drops that was nothing but a he who had the group with the  fastest clicker won the token drop as very little single pvp happens its mainly group on group or group vs player. If im out in the wild wompin somone and you or your group roll up and assist/leech if you click the chest faster you got my reward for my work  while i was stuck with nothing but a mad player zerging me because you leeched a fight !
I don't know why they would take the most highly popualted servers and run them into the ground, as you said I think they are also doing it just to get rid of pvp period. There was a time when Nagafen,Vox, and Venekor all had great populations. Naggy being the top of the list of all servers up there with AB. So why they would get the idea people don't like pvp is beyond me.
Yeah i didnt notice right away but one thing i found to be totally broken is the new zones requiring x amount of crit chance for healers, my inq in full pvp gear, about 130cc, does not crit in PVP! grouping with toons in mc gear with raid jewelry are critting more than me! ~ Lovebullet / Eoji
I agree! i was on vox and watched it die now im watching naggy die out as well, when the pvp is gone so will i be as i do pve also i get that rush from pvp its what i log on for. every update on pvp over the last few years has only hurt it more and more.
Smallsie/Jennay
It's sad how we got A.)  The thread started by Rothgar, which you can hardly say EQ2 players ignored as it's 29 pages long and B.) the big lead-up from the devs before GU63 on how GU63 was going to be the big PvP behemoth...and now GU63 has long since come and gone and we have no changes whatsoever to Nagafen.
And not only that, but a dev has since passed the comment that we probably won't see any PvP changes in GU64, either.
Oy, SOE, are you basically hoping everyone on Nagafen just leaves for Tera/Guild Wars 2/Aion's F2P PvP?  Are you secretly planning to merge and shut down Nagafen so it can be moved back to Vanguard from whence it came, to provide additional hardware for Vanguard's re-launch this summer as F2P?
(Wouldn't it be funny if Nagafen shut down here and reopened as an open PvP server in Vanguard?)
Just move on... for EQ2 PvP, it's over.
I'm at a loss for words when it comes to PvP in EQ2. So much potential and so little effort by SoE. I'll assume developers are just focusing on what they are told, but provide some decent feedback from your player base to those decision makers! My god, facial expressions? [email protected]$%... seriously, stop listening to the clowns that dress up like dark elves at your fan fair. Crap like that... housing items, dungeon maker.. it's fluff that doesn't drive subscriptions or any thing remotely close to a mmo I want to play. Maybe my breed of player base isn’t what they’re after..... but it's dam depressing. They've basically "forced" me to play other games
I played EQ2 since beta, but wasn't until a few years ago my gf started playing and wanted pvp. Those were the best times i can remember, best players (even some of the Qs) the most exciting experiences, really GOT me into the game.  Then everything fell apart somehow.
Some say hackers some say itemization.  Pretty much everyone i know that likes the game went pve and even bgs are barren now.
Really love the random/adreneline factor and would love to have a bone thrown there every once in a while
