The patcher is crapping out while trying to patch itself.

Really?

Where do you have EQII installed to? This is typically caused by either already having an instance of Everquest II open or permission issues which may also be caused by security features present on the PC.

Our current default install path is C:UsersPublicSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest II

This installation path is not protected like Program Files or ProgramData. If your installation is not located in that folder I do recommend relocating it there right away, you would just need to update the shortcut you use to access the game to reflect the new path.

Double check any antivirus applications or firewall software that may be preventing this as well, add exceptions for the Everquest II game folder and files or disable them altogether to patch.

G:Sony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

There's only 1 copy open. When I click on the EQ2 icon, it brings up the patcher, which when I check the name in ProcessExplorer (task manager on sterroids) it shows that the patcher is named everquest2.exe which explains why it can't write it.

Is there some workaround for this?
