Over trip SC time, like so many others I took advantage and picked up my year for super cheap. Only to notice that I can no longer gift silly items (hats, pets etc) to friends in game.

So started the days of back and forth with CS. Finally (!!) they let me know that if you have picked up your year in advance you can re-up for monthly to start after your year runs out and that tricks the system into thinking you are a monthly now, so then you can gift! Hopefully that helps anyone else out that is having the same prob now, I know I wasnt the only one who took advantage of that great deal.

I had also asked where my 12 month bonus items were, and they said they didnt think they did those anymore. I checked again on my account page and it still shows that they do give the 3, 6, 12 month bonus stuffs, but CS has no idea if they do or not. Has anyone that pays 3, 6, or 12 gotten their bonus items? I really dig the horse you get for the 12 months, it has float on it yay!

Hopefully a dev will see this and can give an answer, CS said they honestly just dont know. I do know that it still shows avail, if you pay with SC or if you pay with your CC you are to get the bonus items. Where the bonus items have went....well im not sure It would be fantastic if the CS would be let in on whats what in game because they really just dont know, I talked to 5 or so diff peeps and they all were just confused.

I did the exact same thing as you, Triple SC for a 12 month SC sub then reapply the CC for the Transfer Token visibility. However, when I did the transaction on the everquest2.com website NO where did it say the "old" multi-month items were included. I though at the time they were detached from the multi-month sub during the F2P conversion, but even if not from that then from the SC membership option. It is facilitated from a different website as previously, so I wasn't expecting the bonus items to be included.

You could think of it as you saved yourself $120 usd and that buys an aweful lot of better looking mounts.

Send your /petition in, imo there is no way they can argue what they have left as being avail. They deff have NOT been discontinued, they are still on your game pass page also if you go in to your account and change your sub time. Maybe in their head it has been, but it's deff not.

The GM I talked to said, he put it on my account ( and he did! ), but that since they were discontinued not to count on them next year. As long as they are showing as something we get, they can count on me /petitioning for them to hand them out.

IMO SOE needs to get it figured out and soon, I will be passing it on to friends/guildies, letting them know to /petition for it.

BTW Famorf cant read you with black text, unless highlighted

I also bought a year with SC. I did not realize I was supposed to receive items for buying a year at a time.

This thread makes me ask though, I cannot gift anymore, is that because I'm on a non recurring sub now? And if so, can I do as suggested in this thread and sign up for recurring monthly and get gifting re-enabled? I have some SC sitting on an abandoned silver account (after I realized how cheap a year of gold worked out to be) that I'd like to 'gift' over to my main account. And if I did this, I would not be charged until my prepaid year was up?

-Miz

perhaps, they do treat the non-recurring like 2nd class citizens. we can't transfer servers, we can't gift, etc. regardless, the ad does not say that you must buy a recurring sub, it says one year.

you want to know what i find extremely frustrating/aggravating abt the CSRs reps? they are not consistent.

We thank you for your interest in this promotion, but I'm afraid that it is no longer available. Now that EverQuest II has gone free to play, the promotional items for the 12 month subscription are no longer being granted. The advertisement for the promotion was from 2010 and has ended as of December 6, 2011, which you can see by the lack of their mention when on the page to buy the 12 month subscription. I hope that this helps clarify that matter for you. If you find you have any further questions, feel free to write back and let me know.

the ad is still up, it is being auto-granted to recurring subscribers & the EQ2 team is giving poor customer service due to their lack of communication with each other.

I forget which podcast it was but Smokejumper himself said that vet rewards would be available to freeport players after the merge as previously they were not entitled to them and even went as far to say that there would be some "exciting news" or a "revamp" done to them so surely going on this they should still be available?

I know my freeport chars were granted all the rewards they were entitled towhen the merge happened and I had six years of rewards to claim. Could the CSRs be getting themselves mixed up and they are not available to bronze/silver accounts even if they have the correct age on the account?

lucky, this is not abt vet rewards. also, check your claims. theres a thread abt vet rewards in the forums somewhere.

lilly, they just called you a liar. i believe you, not them...

Unfortunately, I am also unable to grant these items to your account, as this promotion has ended. The link provided to our forums has a player saying that a GM assisted them with this, however, this would not have happened, as we do not retroactively grant claim items after a subscription event has ended. The link to our website does show that the event did occur, however the event was from 2010 and had ended prior to you signing up for the 12-month subscription. I realize this is not the answer you were hoping for, and wish there were more I could do for you, but if you have any other questions or problems, please don't hesitate to contact us again

AGAIN... bad customer service from SOE. yipee!! gotta love it. NOT.

p.s. lilly, dont think this belongs in general discussion.

I purchased the 12 month non-recurring sub with SC yesterday, petitioned when I didn't get the 12-month bonus items automatically, and within 6 hours they were in my overflow. The response to my petition was very friendly and helpful.

I gotta say it's news to me that the promotion ended December 6th, because even after the F2P change it was still listed, that was part of the reason why I bought enough SC to get the 12 month sub.

It does seem to be the case that the different reps sometimes give different answers, and it's not always consistent. For the most part I've always received acceptable responses to petitions, but did have problems with getting one (and only one so far) resolved. It can be frustrating, but overall, SOE has better customer service than most everyone else that I've dealt with. The game may have issues, but the CSR's in general are pretty exceptional.

my "gold" standard of comparing the CSRs in EQ2 are with FreeRealms. the CSRs/GMs in EQ2 pale in comparison to the FR reps/Referees. (this does not include the TSRs. dont have anything negative to say about EQ2's TSRs.)

with the FR CSRs/Refs, I am left satisfied most of the time --even when i don't get what i want bc they actually research and help. with EQ2 CSRs/GMs, i'm left frustrated most of the time --usually bc the rep just whips off the quickest reply and clearly doesn't give one iota abt helping.

let's suppose that i had a question abt something and could not find the answer when i did a search. i submit a ticket with my question. turns out, my question has an answer in their vast database, even though i could not find it.

this is what i what i would expect from an EQ2 GM:

they would paste the link and tell me to go read it.

this is what i what i would expect from an FR Ref:

they would paste the link and also paste the information so i don't have to go to another page.

p.s. reply from GM Z

I'm afraid I don't have any thing more to add to what GM X and GM Y have already said. My little level 62 zerker is happy to be floating and the 2 potency that comes with that pony! Will edit my post to add that stuff for you. Someone also posted a link to it, and if you go into your account stuff and change it so next year when your 12 month runs out, turn it into the gold monthly 15 bucks, add your CC to the account, after 30 days you are spose to be able to gift.
We did indeed think those rewards went away when the whole business model changed. I actually think that's a mistake on the web page, still having those rewards in the description. Regardless, it said it, so I've gone ahead and granted you the crate. Please be advised that unless something changes, those rewards aren't being offered any more, so I wouldn't want you to expect them when next year rolls around. I'm sorry for all the confusion. If you have any further questions, just let us know!

Thats the answer about the monthly rewards, will aslo add the bit about making your gifting work. I didnt add the CSR's name I think thats a no no? BTW I did let them know that if the items are still showing next year, I dont care if they think it's going or not, they will be hearing from me again. If it is infact gone, take down the link to the "exciting news" and take it off sub section, otherwise gimme!

Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment. I understand there is a little confusion, so allow me to clarify. The gifting and transfer token features can be reinstated automatically by getting your account into a recurring status. You have paid for your year, but it will not recur. To "trick" the system so to speak, you could login to www.soe.com and head to the Game Pass Info page and update your subscription to a monthly recurring memberhip. This will not charge you until after you current subscription expires, but it will set your account to a recurring status which if allowed to play out would recur on 1/4/13 as you previously status. However, after 30 days the gifting feature should return to your accountand after 7 days you should see transfer token availability. You can leave the account in this state as long as you realize that on 1/4/13 it will convert over to a monthly recurring membership instead of yearly. In the meantime you will technically be recurring in the system and after 30 days the gifting feature will be available on your account again. I am not sure if in the meantime it will add the 500 SC entitlement to your account, we are thinking so, but this would be one of the first cases. You can check back with us and we can look into it for you?

That is both bits and hopefully helps you guys. I will say that I think CS is just really really confused, I had a diff person respond each time, and each one had a different answer. I know for a fact that the morning I changed mine to be monthly so that in 30 days I can gift, the 3, 6, 12 month goodies were in fact still being offered. I do not for a min doubt that soe has just not managed to take them down, but if it's still showing avail after a month (when I paid for my 12 month) then they arent too worried about it are they?

I know I got alot of slack because it's just a horse etc etc, the way I see it is, when you order the CE of xpack you got a house, some clothes, mount etc. Its all crap you have tons of, but it was something you expected and when they dont give it to you, well it makes you unhappy. Just because the items you are going to get are items you all ready have plenty of, doesnt make them anyless value. I also have plenty of plat in game, doesnt mean I dont still collect it off my broker

My CSR said he passed his SS he took around /boggle

GL GL hope you get it!!

he's not going to do a thing. he qued me for a supervisor; however, at the end of the call... i discovered that i was in billing. this was not a billing issue, this was a item issue aka GM. when he qued me for a supervisor, im going to get a billing supervisor who is not going to be helpful. hip hip hooraaaayyy! next time, im clicking tech support.

at first, he didn't know what the REWARD is supposed to be. after discussing things with his supervisor, he came back and claimed that there is no item awarded. oh & here's the best part... the "REWARD" in the pics that i posted is the fact that you are.... wait for it.... subbing to the game!

Did he not see the SS? I mean really is it that hard for him to take the time to check it out if he thinks you made them up? It did take me a week to get it all figured out, yay for finally getting a CSR that took the time to do his job! I'll PM you my guys name, he is a very nice fella

i was rather impressed with myself bc i didnt lose my temper with him, actually . that said, he had a lot of patience bc my son was throwing a temper tantrum in the background bc he has to do chores. it couldn't have been easy to listen to that & we were on the phone for quite a while. i will give him this: he was rather polite in his replies and while trying to convince me that reward means subscription.

really funny how the "reward" is not listed on one-month. i guess you are not rewarded enough for being a one month subscriber. in order to have the full effect and feel rewarded, you must sub longer.

At least they're crediting you for a year. I had a station pass so it credited me with 10 months instead of a year, and after two attempts to change it I gave up.

Edit: Tigress is probably right (and more clear than CS was) that it was still an active station pass account so it just credited the time, it showsa a monthly recurring paid through October. The market text seemed like a pretty specific purchase rather than a general credit, but I'll just let it run and change it after it expires.

im confused, kasar. theres a one year sub with station pass, too. did you mean that it won't go away? you cannot get rid of station pass until it expires. i tried several times to get rid of it but had to wait until it expired before permitted to switch to an eq2 annual sub. if you lost character slots, send in a ticket. they will fix it now.

why must TPTB always be so difficult? they made a decision today and changed the rewards from long term sub to recurring only. then the rep replies and tries to act like it's been there all along. i wasn't born yesterday. they still didn't even bother to fix the page where you sub & only added in a new FAQ. would it kill them to grant what they promised without it being a hassle, for once? remember the whole character slot problem? remember where they promised you would lose nothing and yet, many did. yes, SJ eventually fixed it but it was a whole lot of work to get his help. why can't they just look at what they described and honor it?

My reply from SoE: A link to the new FAQ (posted today) that Tigress has already pointed out, and a summary that I do not qualify for any rewards. Despite having purchased the 12 month subscription in Nov/Dec '11.

I didn't know you could change purchased agreements retroactively like that.

-Miz

Thats total crap, they shouldnt be showing it on SC if they dont want to put it out. What is even more frustrating is that they managed to post that change today but not ONCE has a single red named posted in this thread. The service coming from SOE these days is embarassing. I feel for the CSR's that have to deal with all of us upset peeps. They are to the point where they should flat out be ashamed of how they are acting, just because you push something under the rug it doesnt go away SOE, just makes for a real bumpy rug.

SoE has to the only company that penalized people for paying up front. Every other company I deal with offer incentives for paying up front. They want to treat people like second class citizens because people do not want to give them thier cc info anymore and decide to go non recurring.

Its very poor form to offer one type of gold member rewards and deny other gold members the same just because of the way they pay for the same service.

If SoE going to change policies, the need to post things up front instead of hiding things then coming out when people make inquires.

Very poor form...
