You really should try using the editor. It makes world of difference! And theres even tutorials online you can watch that shows the basics. Here...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb-V...mp;feature=plcp

It's really not hard to use. As for how to manually edit the file yourself, theres a string of numbers that represent the rotation/pitch/roll of the item. Just change the appropriate number to 90 or -90 depending on orientation and that will lay it flat.

But seriously... use the editor. lol

I would recommend using the layout editor too. Not only it is easier to see the different columns but it also has some tools to make a decorator's life easier.

In any case, the number you are looking is the 7th if you are using notepad. Change it to 89.98 or 90.04 to pich the tapestry of the steam lord. A warning though: Never use a whole angle like 90 or 180 for pitching an item. There is a bug in Everquest 2 that will make the item spin like crazy if you use an angle like that. Broken angles like I suggested should be fine though.

You can edit the layout files with any program that can open a text file. What Jesdyr's Layout Editor provides is just a more convenient interface to do that plus some very useful tools to make some very difficulty stuff much easier.
