I quit about a year and a half ago, or right before the gear restatting to have a baby. Now I'm back as a casual nighttime player, but I figure i will be raiding and doing harder stuff eventually, as soon as my boy finally starts sleeping through the night.

i was playing a warden (she is mid 60s) to heal my berserker husband, but also had an illusionist, defiler, conjuror, and coercer. I've read there were alot of changes to wardens, and people saying they arent as accepted as plate healers in groups at high end. now that i could potentially get a healer mercenary, i dont need to necessarily bring the heals for us to do harder stuff duo.

should i switch to an alt? are any of those more in demand generally than a warden? i could try something else, too, just thats what i have unlocked.

Don't listen to them.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Wardens.

Edited to add: No doubt somone will respond to this with one of his normal posts complaining about class balance and how wardens aren't as good inquisitors. Ignore him especially. What he really means is that he can't play his warden as well as some inquisitors play their toons. Other wardens don't have the same problems he seems to have.

I love my druid and she does well at 90 she is a fury, but she has solo healed pools ascent and darn near did spire(had a second healer but she was the one who did the vast portion of the heals and cures) so like kahonen said do not listen to the other person.

p.s. my fury is not my main toon, I have a Ranger who is and I can still out heal some inqs with my fury. and I have a guildie that runs rings around some of the inqs and mystics with his warden so I"m looking forward to bringing mine up some time in the future.

Arg my reply got lost withthe login bug ....

Too lazy to repeat myself.

Technically warden main issue is the lack of dps buf and the lack of spike hps. I got again today my tank getting splased by the 6 warboars in drunder 1. He was loaded with every possible warden trick (thorns, anti death, genesis, sandstorm, turtle, hot running , skin like wood ....) . He would probably had lived with standard reactives (ST,MT) plus a divine guidance.

This is a rationnal issue, and the fact that we are getting catched by classes with tradionnaly low hps simply because we must recast our HOT before completion (which mean that benefit much less from cast/recast than others) is also a formal statement.

Fanboys and Inquisitor undercover never reply to any valid comment, they simply claim their famous learn 2 play.

Druids are certainly much better player than inquisitors in general, they actually do perform twice more actions. Inquisitor is by essence the easy mode healer. And their rising as to do with soe will to make the game a frags in which you will push here and there a proactive heal button.

So, warden reamin very good at solo healing content, but they face issues when the tank is undergeared.

In raid "iwin" guilds will use one, but we raided with 3 druid no inquisitor 2 templar and a mystic and we got fun.

As Lincoln stated "Whatever you are, be a good one."

This is how I look at the classes period.

Ignore Gorock. He's the troll mentioned earlier who has severe envy for Inquisitors.

I on occasion group with a Fury (similar enough to Warden in healing ability) in my guild who is toe-to-toe with me on heals AND dps at the same time when we do hard zones like the Drunder ones. Often he's out DPSing me. I have the edge on cures only because we set it up that way. I brought my Dirge instead to a TOT group he healed solo. Only mob we could not finish off was the boss due to the buildup of curing needs (my Inquisitor would have had same issue, and has before).

I have a warden, ive not done any bigtime raiding, i have done alot of group DOV content, and i often duo things like ISK with a guildies tank. I have no issues keeping us alive. We use mercs to give us some extra dps, wardens heals are fast and our heal over times makes our healing just fine. (At least in my experience.)

Wardens rock. Use AAs to spec for melee and free heals when you melee or damage the mobs and you'll do awesome heals and respectable DPS. With max AA in warden of the forest, a wardens mitigation is better then somebody in equivlent level of chain armor, so being close to the mob isn't an issue. I love my warden and have no dififculties healing or dpsing with her.

Decent warden + sk merc is a force to be reckoned with
