I noticed a huge issue. (not sure if it was already talked about, but could not find anything). Healing mercs can heal, great. BUT not for pet classes. I have BL and have not seen it with my Necro but they don't heal the pets. They will heal me if I get hit, but if I am using my pet to tank (yeah yeah) I am stuck with dinky heals, where if I was in a group the healers in that group would heal my pet.

Will we ever have an option on who/what they heal?

Guess mercs expect you to heal your own pet, and they will then heal you

I have seen heals in the spell list, but I don't know if it is a group heal reactive or what. I have read someone else say that if the pet is hit first then they may heal.

Cleric mercs in EQ1 didn't heal pets unless they used a group heal either.

I'm a 90 conjuror. If my pet is the only one taking damage, the Merc NEVER heals my pet. Only when i'm taking damage and the merc casts a group heal, only then the group heal also hits my pet. But if i stop taking damage, the merc stops healing no matter what kind of damage my pet takes.

I don't hardly ever use the heal merc though since my Pet Heal at 90 will heal any of my pets from 1% to 100% in 1 cast. That doesn't start happening though until you get a good amount of crit chance, potency, and what not.

The only time my heal doesnt heal my pet to 100% is when i'm using the tank pet and he is Plane Shifted. Which is understandable considering how much HP Plane Shift adds to the tank pet. =)

My experience seems to be hit and miss with the cleric merc healing my pet. I've had times when I've been scrambling to keep my pet alive while the merc just stands there and times when he actually heals my pet on a consistant basis.

I have noticed that he seems to wait until around 50% health before he'll start healing. I know if i'm using my fire pet, I try to avoid it even getting that low because one damage spike and the pet's dead, so he's fairly worthless on that.

90 Nec, done some testing with various pulling options and seems to me the only heals that hit our pets are the group ones. Merc's take no notice of them as far as straight heals and cures, or even combat. I tried changing my pets name, and it doesn't add it to the Merc assist box, which I guess it shouldn't...but it is rather tricky and it would be nice to have some changes to make them take more notice on our pets.
