View Full Version : Question on unlocking character slots

Hello, all. I had played EQ2 a while back, then tried EQ2X. With the merger of the two, I planned to come back and play an old character. Unfortunately, since the old character had been on the original Live account, it is now locked behind the characters I'd created on EQ2X as well as some other characters that were on Live. The one I'd like to get at is near the top of the merged list, so even buying a single character slot would not work, since it would just unlock the next one up rather than give me a choice.

I am looking for options other than a) delete multiple characters b) buy multiple character slots or c) subscribe to Gold for a month and make sure I play the characters in the order I'd like them locked/unlocked. I do have a post in Account Support that lists out all the details, but I'm not sure if that is the correct location for it (http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=512444).

Maybe someone here can provide additional advice or suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

You can always log into a character you can and do /camp charactername. used to work before.

They disabled that as an exploit a while back. I would call CS and ask them to help you with something this complicated.

Honestly, they should just take a page from LOTRO and let people choose which characters they want unlocked when they downgrade. As I can attest from Lotro, even after having the choice I still bought an unlocker since not having access to all my toons made me nuts. ( Let that subcription run out to sub to EQ2 lol).) So I am sure SOE would still get thier character slot unlock money and it would be a sensible and good will gesture

As I understand this post by Smokejumper, you should have access to all your characters.

Well, new year, new possibilities, right?

Question: if customer service could up my account to Gold for 1 day, just long enough for me to "rearrange" my characters, would that have any lasting effects on my account? I would not be using any of the other Gold perks that day and don't want to end up with more than the rearranging itself.

Not saying they can do this, I'm just looking for solutions that will get me playing. I have already (voluntarily, I know) given up quite a bit by not logging in to any characters at all this past month.

Thanks
