What you drop coinwise when killed in pvp is part of what you are carrying with you at the time, so bank all your money to save it. You might also drop a treasured item from you bags, but the gear you are wearing is safe as is stuff Legendary or better. You are safe until you hit lvl10, then you become an update!

Ask in chat channels for more info and don't mind the trolls gnawing on you, they often get hungry.

Good Luck!

For a little bit more "exact" information, you will drop 40-75% of the coin you carry, and you will have a 25% chance of losing an unattuned treasured or below item. So anything you are wearing or that is attuned to you is fine.

Like Nekonlith said, make sure to bank as often as you can.

Battlegrounds is the place is you want to "casual" pvp. Its available on all servers and you can gear up relatively easy playing BG's. Starting out new on a red server, especially if you are Free to Play is highly not recommended, most players here are geared to to teeth, with master spells,, both of which are neither available to free to play players, and with the current state of major city immunity being lop-sided in Qeynos favor due to an "oversight" (/cough) that continues to get overlooked. Starting out fresh on Nagafen will be an excercise in frustration and futility, to say the least.

I am a gold sub, pay by the year, and it's good to know the rules if you will. I am aware I will get ganked a lot but hey it's the nature of the beast, and from my understanding BG's is not real PVP, true?!?Level 10 is very soon so I can't wait

Thanks guys and look forward to getting squashed on Naggy

Level 10 , yes, you do become pvpable,, HOWEVER, since the starting zones of DLW, TD, Gfay and FFS are "city immune" UNLIKE the city of Freeport in its current state (yes I'm still upset about this) you can roam and quest in those areas peacefully until right around level 20, and then start earning Discord tokens for pvp gear in the Warfields. Battlegrounds is "controlled" and casual pvp that you earn tokens for gear as well, and may also be used in pvp.

The problem with BGs though is they suck. pvp as it is now isn't too bad especially with the new Vox players coming over it is rather nice.

Carrying the newb questions further ( A bunch of us from Freeport started a Guild on Nag and are having a great time)..yeah, we're dying a lot...but its fun. We are all Gold Subs.

I have a couple of basic questions though.

1) It seems I read somewhere that most people lock at LvL 39...that being the most active PvP Tier? Or continue questing and leveling and pvping?

2) Immunity?..I thought low level players were immune from 8 level or higher players until just after we (our group) killed a couple of peeps that jumped us, a lvl 90 stepped in and wiped us all. So, I'm guessing that immunity doesn't hold right after a kill..or am I missing something? Also, when the lvl 90 killed us..he left us with all gold? I thought that was automatic..or am I missing something else?

3) PvP Gear...acquired through Discord Tokens? Or are there other ways?

4) How do the warfields work?

5) How do the raids work for Freeport / Queynos? Can any group go there...or does the server go there as a raid or group...allied or not?

Any opinions here would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Raf

I'd suggest level 39 simply because at level 90 you won't survive unless you have PvP gear. Save yourself the troubles and just get max Discord faction and enough token to buy the levle 90 gear if you are wanting to goto 90.

Immunity lasts for 60 seconds. While killing players 8 levle higher or below you, if you AE and a RED is standing in the middle of you all you will get CARNAGED which means you can be killed by any and all members of the opposing faction.

No, tokens only.

Warfields is every other hour, you run to a tower and get flagged. You must get flagged otherwise you won't get credit for that warfield. Flagging begins at :10 after and you can get flagged upto the :35 after mark. You must be in zone at :40 after to get credit. (Or whenever the towers fall if they do fall.)

Freeport/Qeynos are open PvP so technically you can go there with as many or as little people as you want. Remember both cities have guards so its good to have friends to help you kill them.

Thanks Senkai,

One other question? On the issue of level locking? The older stickies seem to suggest disabling Combat XP and maxing the slider towards AA. Is that the current practice? Or has anything changed in the multitude of updates since most of those were written?

Raf
