I thought in the video with the devs that there were going to be books to kinda tell lore and a story as we can not write dialogue for npcs or make a chatting npc. Has this been implamented?? or am I missing something??? Or is this a later update? Thanks

You can already buy player made books where you can write several pages.

I have been through a dungeon where someone had one of the books on a table and I was able to read it.

It's not a special dungeon implementation but it works. I think player made signs also work. (I think that's what I saw in one dungeon)

Yes, player-made books, crafted signs and doors all are working properly - I've used them all in my dungeon and tested it.

At the other side, I've discovered, that screacher noise boxes are not working in adventuring mode - possibly it's just becouse adventurers not recognised by them as player characters (you know, tab selects adventurers as well as mobs). Also, I'we heard, but not tested myself, that "magic mouth"-like signs (from city festivals) not working in dungeons too.

Ok...are there specific names for these books on the brokers. I'm a noob when it comes to EQ 2. I was EQ 1 player for about 9 years. So now im learning EQ 2. Thanks

Player-made unfilled books are called "notebooks", AFAIR.

To fill it, you should "read" it, there wil be empty pages and an "Edit" button. By clicking it you could give the book a name (just keep in mind, that there surely will be added "by <your character name>" at the end of book's name, so I've had to create a special character with needed name just to write a story-related book ), choose a language at which one the book is written (your character should know this language) and fill the emty pages.

After that, the character who written the book will still able to edit it, but all others - only to read.

Keran77 wrote:

Also, I'we heard, but not tested myself, that "magic mouth"-like signs (from city festivals) not working in dungeons too.

I can confirm this - you can place the magic mouth signs in dungeons but you cannot set the message or trigger range. (I was able to set them up in my house, then pick them up and place them in a Dungeon - the message and range settings perserved.) Also, the signs do not trigger when you are running the dungeon with an avatar. They DO trigger when your character walks by them in Edit mode however. Probably a symptom of the same problem affecting the Screech Boxes.
