View Full Version : Any race with decent two handed animations? Does race even matter, or is it more to do with class?

I recently came back to EQ2 and started playing my human melee inquisitor. I really love the class, and the fact that I can melee while still being able to heal and whatnot, but what's really getting to me (just as it did the last time I played), are the god awful combat animations. I didn't notice so much when I was using a one handed and shield, but once I switched to a two hander it got my attention right away. Almost every one of my melee attacks is done with one hand. Heck, two of them look almost like fencing attacks. It makes absolutely no sense and it's really immersion breaking for me. My froglok SK, on the other hand, actually has believable twohanded animations (for the most part anyway). But alas, he's a frog, and I'd like for my inquisitor to stay within the realm of humanoids.

So all that said, is this something that depends on class, or are the human two handed animations (in general) just really bad? And if so, any recommendations on another race with decent two handed animations?

I really enjoy the game, but it'd be nice if some of the animations could be revamped a bit.

Combat animations/more character customization seem to be a low priority... :/

The two-handed weapon animations tend to depend on the weapon being used - that said if you can find a bo staff to pop in appearance or use as your regular weapon they have nicer animations. (If you like more martial-arts inspired combat animations.)
