i've decided i'd like to turn my Maj'dul Vacation Suite into a home touring expo. i think it would be wonderful to have a single location as a jumping point for touring! and as a frequent tourist, i'd like to be the one to host this location . here are the ideas i'm tossing around for my expo... i'd love some opinions and/or suggestions!

anyone who'd like their home/s to be added can place a portal and include a notebook to share details/stories/descriptions/whatever about that home which i'll place with their portal. if a notebook is not provided with the portal, then i'll write up a description for it myself.

i can divide the portals by type... freeport home, qeynos home, everfrost summer home, mistmoore crag estate, ect. i think that would be a simple way to organize portals for visitors.

since there are no portals for guild halls... any guild who would like to be included can allow me to place a portal to my expo in their guild hall so when a visitor clicks my door to leave, the guild hall will be one of the exit choices. i will also place a notebook with instructions on how to visit those guild halls by the door.

i'm currently in the middle of a commissioned project, but as soon as it's done i will begin work on the expo. in the mean time i'll start collecting ports. if you would like to be included you can contact me in game as Ishaza or Minsipone on the Antonia Bayle server.

thanks in advance!

EDIT: almost forgot! i could also include a notebook with addresses for homes on other servers. i reserve a character slot for this very activity. i'm sure i'm not the only one!

i could also have a "new" or "spotlight" section for new arrivals.

i'm starting to get excited about this project. i sure hope you all are in to this idea!

I think its a great idea, but don't you have to be at least at "friend" level to be able to use the portals?

I recently randomly toured a guild hall. There was a portal to someone's Estate. I clicked and was transported. Unless I was a long lost friend, I entered with no difficulty as a visitor.

I think that you just have to allow your house to be visited.

Oh, forgot to post my original post. I love the idea! I've been so busy decorating a comission that I haven't touched my house. I need to get busy.

Now that is odd. I placed portals in a friends house and he couldn't use it to get to my freeblood manor until I friended him. I bet I don't have it set for visitors. I'll check on that.

My house is set to 'visitor', (default setting), and even when giving a guildie trustee status, she was unable to use the portal to my EF home from within my New Halas house. There were no issues when using portals from our GH though.

If this is just how they work, the touring expo idea is still a good one, but they'd have to be hosted from guild halls.
