View Full Version : Eles's North Freeport Stronghold

<p>The Deverry clan undertook  the task of once again providing Eles with a home after she decided to change profession, necessitating a move from Qeynos to Freeport.</p><p>In her travels she had come upon a library in a school of magic, and wished to capture the feel of the place in her new home.  It was her dream to have a library large enough to contain all the printed works of Norrath, yet cozy enough to allow for quiet study and contemplation of literature.  She had also become quit enamored of modern style and asked that her private quarters be outfitted in that fashion.</p><p>To that end, Devigia T'Deverry attempted to provide all desires, and I believe she succeeded.  The library is meant to be viewed in the dim light the owner asked for, but the designer did capture the space with a bright torch in hand, and those pictures can be found after the presentation.</p><p>Owner: Eles</p><p>Address: #1 Compassion Road, North Freeport</p><p>Designer: Devigia T-Deverry, along with her cousins Danda Deverry and Donilla Deverry.</p><p><a href="http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/?albumview=slideshow" target="_blank">Slideshow of Eles's next to an unused shrine and some hungry mounts.  This then, is the front patio to Eles's home.</p><p><img Hall</span></strong></p><p>The entrance is grand and sparse.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000009.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Visit the Library Store</span></strong></p><p>Visitors generally come for the store.  If you have the time, the library is open to the public, and if you wish to contribute a book, even better.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000016.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Reading Room</span></strong></p><p>Bring the book here, sit and have some tea.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000026.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Forbidden Section</span></strong></p><p>Past the reading room, and behind locked gates, lies the section for books and treasures both rare and dangerous.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000042.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Downstairs Study Library</span></strong></p><p>On the first floor is a small library, for the more common books and the less scholarly of Norrath.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000047.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Oriental Study Library</span></strong></p><p>As you move up the stairs in the entrance hall, you find yourself on the second floor, in the Oriental Library.  The collection from the eastern lands are quite extensive.  The color of the sandy expanses and bright splashes of color make this a pleasant room to learn about the Maj Dul and other exotic lands</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000048.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Office and Workroom</span></strong></p><p>Hidden in the Oriental Library is Eles's workroom, where she can sort through new arrivals.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000192.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Round Study Library</span></strong></p><p>Also on the second floor you will find the Round Library, where functionality blends with study, structure used to store books.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000062.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Bathing Chamber</span></strong></p><p>Like all grand homes and public spaces, there must be a room for personal ministrations.  You'll have to watch the slideshow presentation if you want to see where it is hidden away.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000069.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Ice Library</span></strong></p><p>Also on the second floor, behind a shimmering, icy, doorway, you will find the Ice Library, so called as its temperature has been magically altered to preserve the precious tomes and weapons ensconced within.  Fell free to leave a book contribution on one of the waiting shelves.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000078.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Garden</span></strong></p><p>At the top of the library you find a door leading out to the tranquil garden.  A tree with benches invites you to read under its shade.  Statuary is displayed for your quiet contemplation, and a fountains adds a musical quality to the fresh air surrounding you.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000118.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Dining</span></strong></p><p>There is a small area for dining, with a serviceable kitchen tucked behind the panel.  Friends of the library may enjoy a glass of fine Norrathian wine while the owner prepares a simple meal.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000159.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Private Quarters</span></strong></p><p>The owner lives downstairs in a thoroughly modern flat.  Images magically beamed from all over Norrath can be seen on the screen in the entertainment center, with a warm modern fireplace casting warmth on the owner sitting on the modular sofa.</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/EQ2_000169.jpg" width="1024" height="610" /></p><p>This is only a taste, there is much more to see.  Come view the slideshow and see all that Eles's Library has to offer its guests.</p><p><a href="http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/mhuygen/EverquestII/Eles%20NFP%20Stronghold/?albumview=slideshow" <p>OH love the backs of those bookcases used as walls. Each section is very pretty and I like how you divided the sections.  Each getting a little more in - depth as you move along.  The ice section is my favorite!</p>

<p>Interesting place. I like how each library section has a different theme based on the bookshelves used instead of the content of the books.</p><p>Good work! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>I enjoyed my visit to your library/home.  <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/e8a506dc4ad763aca51bec4ca7dc8560.gif" border="0" />  Very elegant and well planned.  I especially like the alternate access to the second floor, closing the side of the loft, nice touch.  The neatly trimmed front lawn  makes your home stand out in an otherwise dreary neighborhood,<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Kudos,</p><p>Cloudrat</p>
