Checking the New Halas furniture merchant for the city festival, and I don't see any dividers for sale. There's the tiles, the door, the other local furnitings, but no dividers. Isn't there suppose to be one for this city?

Hmm. No Magic Mouth either.

Wasn't blue marble Neriak? Or am I hallucinating?

The dark blue dividers were Neriak, yes. I don't recall there being a divider for Halas though -- not every city has every item. Gorowyn didn't have a magic mouth either, as I recall. Since there are already icy dividers from Frostfell, perhaps they didn't feel the need for one in Halas.

I checked the Halas area of my house (I have a room with a small area for each of the city festivals) and there definitely wasn't a blue marble divider there, but it was in Neriak. No magic mouth, either

no, there no magic mouth or new halas wall divider.

blue divider walls are in neriak, and they will be back on March 2011 for first week.

some city festival merchants got some missing items vice a versa, depend which town it held.

not everyone likes that new door for new halas, but i am sure there is some ideas for rough looking doors. perfect for shed house, or trap door to basement, or some kinds of tornado shelters, maybe makeshift "raft" boat.

Dammit, they need to hold a city festival either every week or 2 cities per month. Waiting for Qeynos again is too much.

I have a zillion hedges from the Nights of the Dead maze, of which I only planned on using a few. So I decided to sell them off to give me some space. I was shocked to see the prices on the broker. We are talking plats for something that was readily received.

No way would I ever charge something that high for hedges that were a dime a dozen during Nights of the Dead. So I put one on for like 20 gold and it got snapped up in a NY sec. The next one I put on for 30 gold. Same thing. The third, I raised up to 40 gold. Snapped up before I closed the window. Ok, this is ridiculous, I put one on for 50 gold. Ah.... good, it wasn't snapped up immediately. The next day, it was gone. LOL

I'm glad some peeps got a good bargain. I just didn't have a heart to charge 6 plat for one hedge which was the next highest price listed. And here I thought they would be listed for about 5-10gold.

Between myself, the hubby and a couple of guildies I finally have enough to make a miniature maze (once I get the motivation!). So really multiple plat for those seeds doesn't surprise me, people normally need them in mass quanities so the cheaper ones get snapped up fast.

And good for you for not gouging people. You made some happy customers over there!

Planning ahead? Planning ahead?

You call it planning ahead to stock up on white marble dividers half a month before they even ANNOUNCE that they're adding outdoor areas to houses, of which some of us already know it's possible to break out of and build outside?

No. That's not called "Planning ahead". That's being screwed over. I got screwed over. I had NO USE for any type of divider before they added outside areas to the houses. Absolutely none. After the Qeynos festival is over, I suddenly find that the while marble dividers that I could have bought with the 300+ city tokens I have stocked up would be perfect for a project I'm working on. Suddenly for the first time, I have a use for them, but I have to wait half a freaking year to get them again.

I'm not going to pay money to buy them. There aren't even enough on the broker that I need even if I were.

I stock up on items, try to think of what I'll need in the next six months, get extra of items I really like or that could have a lot of use (tiles, mostly)... but, it's not always easy to predict exactly what you'll need for projects you haven't even thought of yet. :p (I mean, that's decorating 101 right? Despite your best efforts, you'll never have everything you need!) If only that dang fortune teller that hangs out with the festival would help us out...

perhaps within the decorating community, as i've seen some do, and i personally have done, borrow what you need, and as soon as you're able to replace with your own inventory, return them. so many of us have warehouses "just in case". mail in game lasts forever it seems, or use a player made book, and it's easy to keep ledger of who has what it's not ideal, but it's certainly less pricey than 10p an item and i would think more appealing than a 6month wait

here, let me give city festival shedule.

Jan > Gorowyn

Feb > Gfay

March > Neriak

April > Qeynos

May > Freeport

June > New Halas

plan ahead, do those current quests for 7 days while it is there. it is fastest writ task and easy for alts if they need serious crafting levelings without doing any craftings, did with 3 alts in 2 days and got about 200 writ tokens collected.

yeah, that okay with me, shedule line ups are subject to devs' alternate, so i guess 2011 will see fresh line ups, if they switching for goody two shoes go first then evil come following as we had evil going firsts during this year.

This is why I buy like 50 of everything when they come around. After 4 months if it isn't used or given away to friends, I undersell peeps on the broker.

This way I have what I need and if I have too much, I get a little rich and other decorators are happy.

Personally I could care less what order since all my characters can purchase what ever they wish at which ever city festival.

The festivals aren't good nor evil. The NPCs will sell to any character. If my Q character wants some blue dividers, she can purchase them at the Neriak City Festival. If my FP character wants some white display cases, she can go to the Qeynos City Festival to purchase them. My NH character can hit FP city festival for some back tiles.

TBH, I really don't see the big deal, nor the obsessiveness over the order of the festivals.

For myself it has nothing at all to do with alignment, but trying to estimate just how many tokens to stockpile the month before the next festival. (I usually don't have the time to grind out tons of tokens the week of the festival.) For example, I know I use a lot of icy tiles, so I did plenty of writs last month. I use significantly less of blue marble from the Neriak festival, so there's no need to try to grind so many writs and I can instead focus on whatever else for that month. I'll still pick up some of the blue marble incase I get hit with an idea for a new project - but it's not like the icy tiles where I know I'll be using tons of them before the next Halas festival. That's why I like to know the order of the festivals, and I know I'm not the only decorator out there that this applies to.

DominoDev wrote:

Aye, I guess I didn't specifically say whether they would switch back to the original or keep the new rotation. I'm not sure we've confirmed it yet, but it probably makes more sense to continue with the newer order from now on. The two cities switched just because Gorowyn was scheduled to be undergoing renovation at the exact same time the city festival arrived, which might have been confusing (and eaten collectibles and unfortunate things like that).

The new rotation would make more sense, being evil-good-evil-good etc. Oh well, I need lots of doors from both cities, so I look forward to either...
