I'm running Windows XP. When I go into "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel, select EverQuest 2 Extended and hit the uninstall button, it blinks and then nothing. I've gone into the EQ2x launcher and can find no options to uninstall the game from there.

Please tell me that I don't have to wipe my hard drive to get rid of this game.

Did you purchase the "Uninstall Token" from the marketplace?

Sorry, couldn't resist

Seriously though, EQ2 has usually been easy to remove manually. It doesn't seem to mess with your registry like other games. If you have two complete directories (one for EQ2 and one for EQ2x) then I would just recommend deleting the EQ2x directory. If they share the same game files then that might be trickier. If it was me, I would just delete the EQ2x launcher files and the shortcuts in your START menu and call it a day. Then launch the regular EQ2 using the EverQuest2 patcher (EQ2.exe). If there's still some old EQ2x files kicking around, I can't see them being much of a problem.

As for the Add/Remove Program screen, I can't remember if XP has the option to remove an entry manually. If not, I know there's some utilities out there you can download that will get rid of old programs no longer installed from that Add/Remove list. Microsoft also has instructions HERE to do it manually, but you have to be comfortable using Regedit. Or you can download a utility like the one HERE
