Honestly, this thing where you can fight someone for 5 min and then they break combat cause they're gonna die? come on! I don't even know why you guys made it so easy, but this happens a lot now. As soon as someone realizes they're gonna die, they just run for 10 seconds and break combat. I don't think this has helped PVP at all, well except for those KS huggers who do exactly what I just described.

Also... PVP ward on jewelry has to go, I know, I know it's a good thing for those serious PVPrs, but a lot of classes can't do enough damage to even pass the ward and now that you can add PVP armor at 30...sheesh, how much protection do you need? I've had lvl 30 battles that have lasted longer then lvl 90 ones.

Here's what I see a lot. A teen level or low 20's vet player with the ward goes around owning newb's that have no pvp ward, then if engaged with another good player....hey just break combat. I thought we were trying to protect the teen players so they would not get frustrated on a PVP server from others continually killing them? This ward is not helping matters.

On my level 16 Fury I faught a level 19 wizzy for over 30 min, neither of us could even damage the other...we just ran out of power cause the ward just kept absorbing all the attacks. Same has happened to me on my level 30's. The ward along with PVP gear is killing solo PVP. I guess that in itself is not that bad, prob makes things more exciting for MOST players to be in a group. Still the ward thing has to go, as a vet I don't think it makes things better and I'm sure it SUCKS for a newb.

Quisi 30 Inquis-162aa | Veggy 30 swash, 184aa, Nubcake 23 Fury 42aa (for my lowbies)

You can't even lock before 30, and as previously said, some classes can hardly break that ward before 30.

However, at t4 and up, the 200 point ward isn't really a problem at all - if two twinked charactrers are fighting, the ward is just a 50 point heal every 5 seconds for both sides of the fight. And yes, almost all level 30-39 fights will last longer than their level 90 counterpart fights with the same classes, thats probably the BEST thing about t4 pvp: no broken procs, no insanely overpowered skills/AA's, etcetera - I love the long fights.

Ever kill somone that was trying to run for the bird? or in BG's cases the disc that you dont even have to prompt all you need to do is double click to fly, or still in combat after the fights over cuz of the runners that you proced on, if u up it ull be stuck in combat from people like this alot longer... which sucks

the way to get out of combat is not fun atm. you can engage and get spaned and run off and break combat and evac and or zone. i think combat break thing should be longer.

Thanks for joining in on the post guys and I agree baldwinboy3, it is way too easy to break. Earlier today I was just messing around and found that if I try to root someone and then run after them, it often breaks me from combat, like immediately, even made me put my weapons away....weird.

But yeah, I keep getting these runners that stick around until they're at 20-30% life, then just run for 5-10 seconds, then they're on their mount and gone!

I don't remember how long you were engaged before, but I never saw a problem with it to begin with. I mean if someone wants to run, they can run from the start...but if they fight back, they should not be able to break in 10 seconds or whatever....sometimes 2 seconds!

I've seen a couple situation where combat broke before it should have but Im really just not seeing this as described. Sometimes combat even seems to last longer then it would have previously. Basically as long as I am autoattacking someone they cant escape combat.

I've had crusaders run from me across the entire width of commonlands (and in one case basically around the entire circumference of the zone) and still not be able to get out of combat with me to escape.

Im guessing many of these situations involve the other party having faster incombat run speed in which case they would have probably escaped under the old system as well.

I think the bigger issue is that many pvp fights just dont ever end which generally leads to one of the players just running off either because they've finally run out of power or just from boredom.

Franticly fumbles for the /agree button..

Pvp ward should be 50-100p at at lvl 30-40 and then 150-200 from 40+ imo.Or maybe have it so it dosent refresh so fast..

Im tired of fights that go on and on and on with no winner. It is pretty [Removed for Content] boooring =)

/Agreed, can't tell you how many people run away from me after they attack and I use dispatch, they just take off on their mount and I cry without a writ update.

Fun game this.

5 fights within 1h today all ended with the same result.

When the opponent starts to loose they turn around and run for 10 sec and then are out of combat..Useless gameplay this imo, there is no fun or challenge to this crap system in open world pvp.

Stop bugging us with BG mechanichs sony,u are ruining ur/our game, dont u get that ?? =)

I had to apolagize to the guy i was playing with because i had talked him into coming back to eq2,he was 2steps from unsubcribing again after seing the current mechanics in action.Luckily i talked him into staying for pve content on a pvp srv !!?? Altho i doubt he will be staying on for long ....

I've had fights 1v1 in t4 that lasted 30+ mins and many around that length where we both gave up, cause nobody was going to die.

The ward is kind of bs, everyone has it though so it is pretty even.. but fights can last for ages at any level now and someone can pretty much always run away if they begin losing.

I play guard/zerker/sk/pally and I can tell you that it's 100% impossible for anyone around my level to kill me 1v1 on any of my characters if I don't want them to. I can always break combat if I want, and most people can't even dent me if I don't enter combat.. plus i run at 70-85% depending on the toon.

Lately it seems the time to get out of combat has been screwed up, I've ran around for probably up to 5 minutes stuck in combat with people attacking me, and sometimes it does seem like I'm out of combat in 10 seconds. I don't know if it has anything to do with the pvp discs or not, but when I first got one it felt like I was getting out of combat faster than usual.

Thats just the WFs, the lag makes everything have to catch up, thus out of combat occurs faster.

I thought It was posted a while back by the devs, where basicly if both sides stop doing damage to one another combat will break fast. Then it will break even faster if the distance between the people increases while no damage is being done.

So if you want to keep someone incombat after they have engaged keep poping them with any ranged attacks you can and try to not let them get far away with sprint. Course its easier said then done for some classes but I can confirm that this general idea seems to be the case.

What most people do is sprint early to start the gap as they run, then they are out of range and out of combat before most people realize it and hit sprint and try and catch up, so they get away.

More and more people are catching on to this exploit and using it, and it is getting VERY annoying!!!!

Especially when scouts that jump around and steath in and out of combat and keep throwing you off target decide that THAT isn't enough of an advantage. So they throw off your target and steath mid combat (what a silly idea) so you can't keep hitting them to at least TRY to keep them in combat. And of course they go out of combat within seconds, leaving you in combat for a few seconds longer then they were, only to have them return shortly with most of their health back while you are still in combat, or only just out of it.

Yeah, this is a GREAT mechanic for PvP (NOT!!!!).

And what's worse (and yeah, I AM gonna let the cat out of the bag on this one so more attention will be paid to this ridiculous problem), is that, if more than one opponent is fighting you, all they have to do is NOT group, and they can all do this exploit individually while their friends keep the fight going and keep YOU in combat, while they take turns rotating through this exploit. NEAT, HUH??

Yeah, I'm real impressed with whoever thought this game mechanic up (/super ultra sarcasm).

What REALLY needs to be done is to hire separate PvP developers AND programmers, and KEEP these departments separate, so that the PvP developer(s) can concentrate on keeping some common sense in the PvP game, and the PvP programmer(s) can concentrate on programming it how the PvP developer(s) tells him/them to.

So how many times did you get owned by "stealth"? It is there so we use it, if you think its an exploit... yeah ok. We can use it IN COMBAT (WOW A SPELL THAT WORKS IN COMBAT!!!) Not an exploit, as some of our stealths help us see invis/stealth and it helps.

TerminalEyesore

Stealth isn't the exploit, learn to read.

LOL....Today I broke combat on my trouby in 3 seconds and was able to evac. I was surprised I broke combat so quickly and even more surprised that my evac lit up and actually worked. Although it saved my @ars, this is a great way to ruin PVP...once again, break combat FTL !

This getting out of combat and running is way out of hand. You cant find pvp unless it 5 to 1 odds..
