Forgive me if there is already a topic on this but I did a search and they were all old....

So today while I was mentoring a friend, we got jumped and he got killed and I had to sit there and take it until I died. Why couldnt I fight back after he hit me??? I should be able to fight back after he attacks me. SOE can you fix this problem please? Can we get a dev response??

/siiiiiiiiiigh

Once a week someone ask this question.

Ill make it easy for you, the reason why you cant is because thats all anyone would do, because of how strong mentored players are.

Not only that we use to have the ability to do that you had raid geared 70s mentoring to 10s. It was desterbing to say the least

Im saying mentored players can only fight back when they are attacked....that is fair......

put in something to advise players they are attack a mentored target or something....maybe even a warning or disclaimer...but once the mentored target is attacked it should be able to fight back

Let's say I'm 30. If I target a level 90 of opposing faction right now they con red. Make it so that if I target someone that is being mentored by a high level toon I should see them con red (or whatever is appropriate for the mentor level) as well. If I still choose to stick my sharp blade into that red con player I deserve what I'm going to get. I'd even say make it so that neither the mentor nor mentee can initiate PVP, only respond and attack if they are attacked first.

The premise of not being able to respond when someone else attacks you is very unpalatable. I'd like for what I'm getting myself into to be very clear, but don't expect the mentor to be a punching bag.

/shrug Probably too much coding involved. Whatever the best answer is, it doesn't seem like the current situation is ideal.

lol if you need a "mentoring flag" over someone's head to tell if they are mentoring then you don't need to be be voicing your opinion on game mechanic changes.

With 90 gear on u if u mentor to T2 they need a full raid of twinks to kill u like after chasing u for 15 mins at least.

Especially if im on my bruiser i can mentor to 10 and just leave character AFK and see if any melee class would even be

able to kill me.

some of you are missing pails point.. if mentored players could fight back .. THAT IS ALL FOLKS WOULD DO.. would be mentor to a low lvl and go to a open contested dungeon and await some dumb arses to come attack them.. seriously EVERYONE would be doing it it would be out of hand..

[Removed for Content] are u saying it would be open season?? no one in there right mind would attack a mentored char, and even if ur new to the game it would only take once to learn....

simple fix is make mentored players perm immunity while mentored...they cant attack but no one else can attack them...
