A few years back my wife and I started a guild. After most players left for other games, family issues etc we left. We have recently returned and find that our previous guild name does not fit where we would like to take the new guild. Alot of work was put into leveling the guild so trashing it and starting it over is not our desire. I see now that, for a price, one can change thier toon name. Back in the day that was strickly forbiden to keep players from griefing, harrassing and overall ticking other players off then changing thier name to hide themselves. However, when I petitioned to change our guild name I was told it was not allowed. I'm thinking the chances of a whole guild participating in the above activities is extremely less than an individual player. What is the reasoning behind this policy?

This is a pretty good idea. In the real world companies rebrand and repackage all the time under new names. In eq2 a guild name is really superficial and is just really a tag under someones name. I mean, is someone can cause community hell, pay a small price and change their name or change servers - I don't really see an issue with changing a guilds name.

There was a recent discussion about this on the forums - which I can't seem to find at the moment. I believe this option is "soon" to be available via station cash.

edit: here's the thread http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...476563?

Yes please put this potion in, I'm quite sure level 90 guilds will sell well when they're names can be easily changed.
