Frostfell has just gone up, and of course there are some new goodies this year! There are quite a few new evil Frostfell items, as well as some others. Here are a few of the new crafted items.. Take a close look at this one, it does look the same as an older item - but there's a new twist here for evil folk. There is also a beautiful new cloak from the Santa Goblin, and poor Gardy has a quest this year as well (with a pretty neat choice of rewards).

LOL, that snowman reminds me of the decorating I did in Vanguard the first year... every snowman had an ax in his head

Are there any Snow Squares?

I am going to be so disappointed if there aren't any snowy squares (like the grassy, mossy, sand, and plank squares)

Making a winter scene is a real inconvenience with bumpy snowdrifts. Wouldn't it be nice to have huge snow covered patches with snow drifts strategically placed?!

There is no "snow" square that I've seen so far, but the marble square from the festival is white and what I am planning to use for flat snow .

I havent seen any snow squares on Test either. I am really disapointed if there are none to be found

It was.. a tad disappointing, as it's not a steady snowfall like the drifts are. You'd have to get at least two of them, if that is at all possible, and offset their starters to get same constant effect.

I was also considering using the white marble tiles for snow in my ice house, but they aren't truly white and clash with the snow drift color..

I'm so happy to see those icicles! I'd asked last year if we could get those for this Frostfell, and there they are. Wow! THANKS!

I did this one last year and got the disco on the machine--it's neat, though I wish it auto-defaulted to being on.

edit: Did anyone else notice that there are no chairs to go along with the new Glacial Table?

Well there's usually a lot of the glacial chairs from the Everfrost Scion instance on the broker, if you dont' have a stockpile yourself (I have sooo many because I just can't resist taking yet one more..).

(snip)

This was a problem last year -- people who were testing overlooked the headers over the Test and Test_Copy NPC's that give the quest.

Since Test and Test_Copy have no resident Guides, they get a NPC version of most Guide Quests. Same for PvP and Exchange servers, according to Domino. Apparently Guide Quests need testing, just like the others.

The Gigglegibber on Test is marked "Guide Quest" right under its name (which is easy to overlook) ... but word went out last year, incorrectly, that it was an NPC quest.

I had some friends who Guided in EQ-1, so I have some familiarity with how the system works. You have to catch the quest when a Guide is online offering it, else you miss out.

So when a Guide was running it on a live server where I play, I went running to get it. I also told of the presence of that unique Gigglegibber in /gu and Crafting and so forth, so other folks could come get the quest if they were interested. I got the quest, and even managed to rotate a few of my characters through it while the Guide was on (and I still enjoy my rewards).

I was frustrated, though, when people in the chat channels answered my "Gigglegibber Goblin is up, come to [wherever it was] now, before the Guide logs off!" message. Several people answered with something similar to, "Oh, but that will be up for another month, or however long Frostfell lasts. Why should I hurry to get there?"

I tried to explain that the "Gigglegibber" is run by a live actor, and that the quest giver would only be "up" as long as he or she was logged in. Unfortunately, most replies indicated that the people believed the incorrect spoilers instead of believing my warnings.

Then those same people got annoyed when the Guide eventually logged off, and they hadn't got the quest. A few were somewhat long-winded in expressing said annoyance, too.

It's not like I hadn't tried to explain how it worked.

If you want the snow generator, and someone informs you that a Gigglegibber is "up" by a city's Frostfell tree ... I recommend that you RUN, don't walk! Why? Because there's no telling how long the Guide has been on, and they need to eat dinner sometime too!

(Edit: doggoned typos...)
