<p>This toon is a Scholar. A Master Sage / Raiding Conjuror and avid quester. Many of her trophies, paintings and such have been placed in our guild hall for the time being. Hopefully one day item count wont be the issue it is currently. The item count in the Mage Tower is 500. There are currently 1059 actual items in the house due to the library. The library is the primary focus of this house and this toon revels in her quest for knowledge. There are currently just over 400 unique game tomes she has quested for and another hundred or so in the way of player written books which have their own categories.</p><p>The pain of the library in making it useful has always been a way of finding books, something I have personally been asking for the past few years (a card catalog of sorts). Well, thanks to Rothgar and Domino for the player written books the library now has a system of locating books. I would also like to thank Jexi for permitting me to borrow a couple of her ideas in using the books as customized information plaques.</p><p>So I logged in today and noticed it was raining in South Qeynos and I thought it might be a good day to stay indoors and take pictures that several friends have been bugging me to do. I hope you enjoy your time here and if you find yourself in South Qeynos on the Bazaar server, stop in the mage tower and look for Artemiz house, all are welcome.</p><p><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZ1hWn3eI/AAAAAAAAAEM/fIjnM6oxIqM/s720/EQ2_000096.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZ2IiCSuI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/l1tZupG6WIw/s720/EQ2_000097.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>Once you zone in, you will find yourself in the library. The desk next to the guard contains 2 catalogs, one for the game tomes and another for player written tomes. They also contain an explanation of the numbering system used to find the books you are looking for. Currently the indexes are created by expansion, then alphabetically. Other types of indexes are being worked on. The player written tome indexes are done by category (Lore, Guide, Raid Strategy, Stories).</p><p><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZpVANZzI/AAAAAAAAACU/EwJ0wAYjpfk/s720/EQ2_000066.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZp3bLs2I/AAAAAAAAACY/VWxlW2MjER0/s720/EQ2_000067.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZqoYlRwI/AAAAAAAAACc/sEAmIdRYJ54/s720/EQ2_000068.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>The embedded book in the door has custom information concerning the library. I find this level of interactions makes house visitation and navigation a much richer experience and more personal. You will also notice the books embedded within the bookcases at the top. The books are used to denote shelf numbers and categories of books so visitors can more easily navigate the bookcases and work with the provided card catalogs to find specific text.</p><p><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZttEc8wI/AAAAAAAAAC4/ggj4Yjs0DvI/s720/EQ2_000076.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>The back room is trophy room. These are accomplishments such as all 9 Master Crafter certifications received are displayed here with the toon names they were achieved on, faction titles, etc.</p><p><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZq2edAuI/AAAAAAAAACg/XeOBTwRR4xI/s720/EQ2_000069.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZrY50DLI/AAAAAAAAACk/9uvqyG8gCQo/s720/EQ2_000070.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZr4qzPDI/AAAAAAAAACo/MK-VDTLxtWo/s720/EQ2_000071.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZsa286CI/AAAAAAAAACs/kKaoBqccaW8/s720/EQ2_000073.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>Parson the hotbars but I wanted to show you how these embedded books in the cases can be used to provide a display plaque and allows you to provide additional information about the items within the case which can no longer be clicked on. For the scrolls, I actually duplicated the examine text for them. It gives them a museum quality display card in my opinion. (Thanks again to Jexi for that idea!)</p><p><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZsyS47zI/AAAAAAAAACw/iRKoMyLvze0/s720/EQ2_000074.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>And heading upstairs you get a view of the second level of library.</p><p><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZuSUhkkI/AAAAAAAAADA/o4dqSS_lwI4/s720/EQ2_000078.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZu2cwCJI/AAAAAAAAADE/dn3qfLTuc1s/s720/EQ2_000079.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZvMvPU2I/AAAAAAAAADI/6FbSddCso8o/s720/EQ2_000080.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>I turned the upstairs room into a working library. This is where books are authored, and works in progress stay until they are finished. At one end of the room is a bookcase which also has the original player written notebooks which Artemiz discovered on the server. For a Master Sage, this was one of those achievements she was quite excited about. All 16 were discoveries <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZwUxbMDI/AAAAAAAAADU/wZPcRgI_yv4/s720/EQ2_000083.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZxHsNHVI/AAAAAAAAADc/Sb7UApXuSV0/s720/EQ2_000085.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZxc5XadI/AAAAAAAAADg/Jx73zjEQuiY/s720/EQ2_000086.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>Being a very private person Artemiz bedroom is off limits to the general public. The living quarters are in the basement area and behind closed and locked doors. The bedroom which shows off the furniture gleamed from the Estate of Unrest.</p><p><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZyIwQa_I/AAAAAAAAADk/1qxfhXFJw18/s720/EQ2_000087.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZyneyNPI/AAAAAAAAADo/aSEAW3iIKS0/s720/EQ2_000088.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZyyj0hMI/AAAAAAAAADs/e0CAU82tQNY/s720/EQ2_000089.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w8hod3MBRh4/SpQZzQ9FnHI/AAAAAAAAADw/8gmaxULQEU0/s720/EQ2_000090.jpg" width="720" height="473" /></p><p>Please feel free to stop by if you are in the neighborhood. See you in game, happy adventuring!</p>

<p>Beautiful!  I really like the player made books used as plaques on the display cases, it really does give it more of a personal touch.</p>

<p>Wow .. nice work on that.</p><p>I was attempting to figure out how you got the glass look in one screenshot with the bookcases (with the spire) but then I noticed it was just from the light <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Very kind all, thank you. I am really looking forward to seeing increased item counts in housing. I find some of the things which are so well done are the pieces we can pay more attention to detail with. I also saw an interesting use of books on the Najena server the other day. false floors and stairs were made entirely of books to work around item count  . . . was pretty hysterical.</p>
