Str is Strength, Stam = Stamina, etc., etc. The 4-4-8-8-1 is the numbers you put into those categories, on the middle page when you Ctrl-L. Your first point opens the page and subsequent points are put into the appropriate sections. For a tankish type I would usually do the Str line first, although I might not use the last item which requires 2 AA points and gives (usually) a title. For a wizardly type you'd probably use the WISdom line first. You want to use whatever maximizes your advantages given your toontype and choice of "profession". Each toontype has a forum and you can almost always find recommendations for AA points for that type. My only problem with those posts is that most of the time they assume that you're already at lvl 80. No one seems to want to come out and say; start here and put so many here and then switch to another line and put a few points there. Continue until it looks like "this".

Hope it helps,

If you're still below level 70, and locked to 50 AAs on the class tree, that's not going to help you as there's not enough AAs to match the specs.

I found I had to respec a few times after level 50 to find the right mix that worked for my playstyle (OT/AoE mob control), so naturally my AAs went to agility for trample, all the way down to Cavalier; some in Strength and some in Intelligence (at level 78, It was the standard 4-4-8 for STR/STA/INT for the crits, and AGI all the way down). Others want to be meat tanks (MT) and take a frontal attack, so they need strength and stamina at all costs, they'll rely on dps killers to mow the mobs down with their spells. Then other Paladins like wiping mobs with spells and put alot into Intelligence to kill with single and AoE spells faster. Furthermore, depending on what group you're running with, you may need to be a backup healer, and AAs have to go into that line (max survival). Finally, you also may prefer playing defensively (hold the enemy) or offensively (burn the enemy), which also affects placement of AAs.

About level 52 you'll find what playstyle you'll prefer (it can change by level 72 as the content is different at that level), and will put the AAs in the lines you prefer. Then respec again when you get your epic and mythical, and for groups and raids.

Paladins are a multi-speciality class. You'll be trying hard to balance everything (especially gear stats), and find no matter how much you try to get the spec "just right", there's never enough AAs to do everything!! lol

wow do I feel dumb...As soon as I read your post Fiorella I thought yeah I knew that. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the insight Kigneer....it makes sense that the trees actually are built one way and then respect for a specific role at max.

Thanks again.
