I was just curious. Does EQ2 recognize the speed differences between DDR3 clocked a mem speed of 2000 and DDR2 with mem speeds of 1333?

I know in most newer games, DDR3 rams overclocked at 2k have an awesome influence in the performance. Being that EQ2 is such an older style game, I wasn't sure if the more current speeds of ram had any impact.

Also, what is the best Motherboard out there that can handle DDR3 @ 2000 mem speed? Currently, i'm looking at an eVGA 132-YW-E180-A1 LGA 775 nVidia nForce 790i SLI ATX?

I plan on putting a wolfdale E8600 in it, and overclock it to 4.0 ghz. Also, looking at the Patriot Viper 4gig (2x2) DDR3 @2000 (PC3 16000)

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

The game should definitely take advantage of any speed increase with your RAM. I use some older style Mushkin RAM myself, and I have extra volts pumped into it so I can keep the timings really low. I notice quite a difference when I optomize my timings.
