The world Map needs more Ocean between the Continents...Mara is still not on the map and the Isle(s) of refuge have vanished from the map and TD seems to have moved on the pics that I have seen.

Otherwise I like what you have done with the maps

If you notice EF moved farther north as well.

BTW I have a video showing a brief look at the map linked in this thread... along with a couple other videos.

::EDIT::

Oh, and the EQ2maps people are in beta and are hard at work making a compatable version... infact there is already a thread talking about it over at EQ2interface... I am sure those guys will have it ready by the time TSO launches.

Look nice, sounds nice, especially the custom POIs. But for me, the sole reason to use EQ2 maps have been the absence of maps in dungeons. Will this be fixed with the new system, will we get maps inside the dungeons and instances as well?

while running around on beta i traveled to some of the older EOF locals and did find a few dungeon maps in place that i had not see before, as for the new zones moor's has a map but i didn't see any for the new places, I think evereyone's favorite dwarven cartographer is going to have her work cut out

I basically don't care much for the new map system but will be sticking with EQ2maps.

Problems with the new system:

1. As of now it sees lands that you have already explored as unexplored forcing you to fill them in.

2. The full map is way too big and covers the whole screen -- and yes you can move while its up - but it is still not as convenient as the full map in EQ2maps which allows you to see where your going plus see the map.

3. The minimap is OK - but given the small footprint of EQ2maps - not really worht it.

Because they have gone for copying WOW maps the POI icons are way too large -- and so far I don't see it containing usefull information such as the POI's of EQ2 maps which locats mobs etc.

Sorry I think this was a waste of development time which could have been better spent on other projects. The only thing I can say positive about it -- is that it is pretty to look at.

It still is awkward.

I consider having to fill in land you have already explored a BIG PITA -- so for me it is a big problem and will ensure that I WILL NOT use the new map system.

It is really not user friendly and lacks all the great POI's that EQ2maps have.
The 'new' map takes up the full screen instead of the current half?

And we are getting the POI's whether we like them or not? Is there a way to turn them off and make our own POI's?

Also, will the maps be shared between all characters on account or remain like they are now, where each one has to uncover the map on their own? (please leave it the way it is, would majorly suck if one character de-fogs the map for all)
