View Full Version : Absorbing Item Back Into /claim

I'm sure other people feel the same way, but there really should be a way to absorb certain items back in /claim, to be picked up on another character. Of course, there should be limits on the items allowed to go into /claim, for obvious reasons. The first type of items that should go to /claim are the ones that started there in the first place. When I first created my account, shortly after launch, I got my /claim items. For those not aware, they were a painting, and an EQ1 server title. You can get the title with a veteran reward, but the painting I'm not so sure about. That character is LONG gone, and so are my /claim rewards. I'm not using them, they technically don't exist any more, and yet I can't get another one. That's not really cool in my opion.Because of this situation, I'm very hesitant to /claim anything, thinking maybe I'll want it on another character. So really what ends up happening is I just don't use any of them, trying to wait and see when/if I really want or need them. The second type of item that should be allowed to go into the /claim pool are items such as the rewards from the Events, which you can no longer obtain. If I was there, and got the item in the first place, it's really a letdown that it has to remain on that character forever, whether or not I actually use that character anymore. I don't have a lot of items like this, but what I do have is special to me because I remember the quests that I took to get, but I don't want to have to keep unused characters around simply for an item or two.It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to implement, and it's not like it's going to greatly affect balance or anything. Just a way of transferring certain No-Trade items (within reason) to other characters on your account.

Oh, how I would like to /claim my golden dragon again!

The simple answer here is make them all no trade, and let you have 1 on "each" character.  What difference does it make if 'each' of my characters gets a 'painting'?!?!?!?!  But yes, I am like you, they remain in /claim because I don't want to 'burn' them.

<p>Why not an new item tag...   alt-trade</p><p> This will allow you to trade those one-time claim items between your alts (even via shared bank).  Like the no-trade, you cannot put it on the broker or trade to another player.  Probably add the tag with this of no-destroy so you can't accidentally delete it.</p>

<p>Yeah, I can relate to this...  I claimed some of the one-per-account items when I first got the game...  but now I no longer play those characters, or even on the same server...  I want to be able to delete those characters and get my claim items back...</p>

<p>I'm all for an [ACCOUNT] flag for items.  But I wont hold my breath for this to be put in.</p>

<p>Oh man, that would be freakin' awesome...</p>

<p>Count another vote for /UNCLAIM.</p><p>In my case, I started the game off with a necromancer.  It was my main and I claimed all kinds of goodies for him.  But as I started to appreciate EQ2 and get a taste of the L80 life, my brigand became my main and I just don't play the necromancer much any more.  I would love to transfer some of his housing items over (particularly the burnai and some lon items).</p>

<p>(crosses fingers)</p><p>I understand that on the Test Server they are experimenting with a tag they call "Heirloom" which will allow sharing between characters on the same account.  As I understand it, it is initially being tried on the Void Shards".  Who knows, maybe it could be expanded.</p>
