View Full Version : The Stage Coach

Hello everyone!

Just thought I would share with you all an idea I had the other day. I have been recently decorating my new home in Gorowyn on the Antonia Bayle server which I have named Bloodmoor and have been busy trying to piece together a truly gothic style manor house for myself and my guild. I've came up with some pretty good ideas but one in paticular I thought I would share.

I came up with the idea of a creepy stage coach parked inside the foyer. The result I am pretty proud of.

A closer look of the driver...

The wheels were pretty tricky and for the life of me I couldn't find anything that looked good. A guildy of mine suggested using Decorative Runed Crescent Axes and thats what did it. The driver turned out pretty good I thought. I used a froglok manni, complete with whip and holding a lantern.

The manor is not complete yet but for anyone on the Antonia Bayle server that would like to drop in, Bloodmoor is located in Gorowyn at Timorous Heights under Fetalis.

That is AWESOME! I loooooove the wheels in especially! Seriously, that's just genius!

09-27-2008, 07:12 AM
now if you could just get a pack of hellhounds and be able to make them stay in position. Nice job on the stagecoach.

09-27-2008, 10:30 AM

That is fantastic! Definitely one of my favorites!

09-27-2008, 10:42 AM
AMAZING! What did you use for those wheels? lol

09-27-2008, 12:47 PM
That is too cool! Excellent use of those decorative axes for the wheels! I hope I can find the dwarf who is needing assistance in Butcherblock today, hehe (I hear he's roaming Guk at some point this weekend...).

09-27-2008, 07:52 PM
That's awesome! When can we see the rest of the house?

Hello everyone and glad you all liked the coach!

Bloodmoor is about half done atm. I'm working on the foyer room right now(the coach and a waterfall are all I have in the room so far) and the library will be next. I play on Antonia Bayle and belong to a guild that are heavy rper's of vampires and werewolves and as such I wanted a house that would fit in with the classic stereotype. I have always been in awe of the Builtmore Estate in VA and have refered to real life photos of that house for ideas.

Here are some more pics of what I have done so far(any suggestions are greatly appreciated).

The Dining Room: This is right when you enter the main room.

The Fireplace: I was pretty proud on how this turned out. Very creepy :p

The Pipe Organ: Not my idea by any means but everyone I have ever seen had only one tier of keys. I added a second to really give it that organ appearance.

The Dining Area:

The Grandfather Clock: What's a spooky mansion without a grandfather clock? This is what I came up with. The gnomes assured me it would be accurate at least twice a day :O

Upstairs: Going up the stairs towards the gallery.

The Gallery:

Well, thats it so far. I'll post more pics when Bloodmoor is completed.

Oh my.... I love it! I will be making a character to check it out when you are done... something tells me that this is one of those that needs to be seen in game rather then the forums....

That grandfather colck is just astounding. The stage coach is awesome too, but being a clock lover myself, I really liked the grandfather clock.

09-29-2008, 11:35 AM

Wow! That stagecoach is incredible (nice use of the vale briarwood bookcases, which I don't normally like) and that grandfather clock... OMG! People here are just so creative!

/wishes she had a house that would make an upper gallery possible...

09-29-2008, 05:21 PM

Wow.

I'm pretty I don't have any ideas to offer, but there sure are plenty I'll take away forom youi. I thought the stagecoach was pretty awesome, and then I saw that clock! And I have to say I think the gallery is pretty imipressive to. I'm on AB And I'm going to have to stop by while my girls are running thru the murder quest line.

09-30-2008, 01:51 PM
How did you make that balcony area?

09-30-2008, 06:26 PM
Wow that stage coach is amazing!! So is the rest of what you showed. Imight just have to come take a look at your house in person!!

09-30-2008, 07:07 PM

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback!

The balconies are standard sandlewood platforms to answer one question. I have gone back in and "tweeked" the stage coach a little more by adding a few things I thought were missing (a droag banner behind the coach driver, a couple different light scorces, and a "scare crow" as the drivers pet ) and i'll post a new pic soon after item resizing goes live to allow me to add yet another touch to it. I am running into a problem quickly with Bloodmoor and that is the evil item limit! :O

I am working on the third room atm (library and rec. room) and am already near 500 out of 600 limit mark. The remaining two rooms will have to wait til I can see how much space I can free up when item resizing goes live or they raise item limit(HA!...). The other two rooms were simply going to be the kitchen/servant's quarters and my bedroom. I am basically building the manor for rp'n purposes and the three rooms I will have complete will fill that purpose well.

Hello again everyone

Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone that has taken the time to comment on this fun yet often tedious task I have undertaken (yeah yeah I know...it's a labor of love ). Your posts have helped me through. I just finished up Bloodmoor with a total of 600/600 items used lol! It's nowhere near enough to have done what I intended to do with it from the start and had to block off two rooms. The three rooms that are done however, I am very proud of. Bloodmoor from time to time will recieve a facelift (after GU#49 with item resizing I can clear up alot of space by getting rid of most of the gazillion rugs I had to use lol), but below are some more screenies of how Bloodmoor looks now.

The Foyer/Entrance to Bloodmoor: The waterfall/fountain was the first thing I made after I bought the house. You can't really see it but a large fish swims in the base. To the left is the dining room and to the right, the sitting room/study. Fetalis' stage coach also parks to the right of the entrance.

Entrance to the Sitting Room: I really like this room. By the time I got to this room I knew my item count was running low so I had to divide the room into a library/study/billard room I love the feel of it. You can almost smell the old rotting books lol!

The Stairs: The creepy stairs made of coffins. Lots of angry vampires without beds.

The Overview from the Balcony:

And there ya have it folks, Bloodmoor as she exsist until GU#49. Her doors are always open but no promise she will let you leave. Feel free to stop by and take a look sometime. Bloodmoor is on the Antonia Bayle server at Timirous Heights under Fetalis. Also, Fetalis is always open to random rp so also feel free to throw some her way. But be warned: Fetalis is a little on the creepy side...just like her house.

I ""LOVE"" the spiral stair case. Georgeous.

That stagecoach is just an incredible follow through an a clever idea, and your house is gorgeous. I can't wait to see it finished!

Kudos to you! It's refreshing to see original ideas posted, and to see two such great ones in one post made me /dance!Thanks for sharing your coach and grandfather's clock!

What did you use to make that wooden arch behind the coachman? BTW, I'm still in awe of this piece.

10-24-2008, 09:35 AM

Hello,

For the arch behind the driver I simply used a briarwood bookcase turned around. Below is an updated picture of the coach.

Also just recently I was asked and given the main entrance room to our guildhall. Below is a few screenies of the Obsidian Moon guildhall on the AB server.

The Foyer: This is the main entrance to our guildhall. I started out in this room with the dragon busts but wanted to do something else to really make them stand out. I added glittering temptations for their eyes and I think the end result worked rather well.

The Fireplace:

If you get a chance, check out other pictures of our guildhall Obsidian Moon's Guildhall (6 rooms, 3 decorators)
