During the Age of Cataclysms, much of the winding mines of Nurga and the Temple of Droga were destroyed. A powerful earthquake brought down most of the old caverns, crushing hundreds of goblins and Chief Gudar, their leader at the time. The surviving goblins soon began to fight amongst themselves. Members of the Nurgan tribe denounced magic as the cause of the "big shakies" that destroyed their home. They turned from magic and mysticism to more practical pursuits, such as tinkering.

So, what, we're supposed to go in and disrupt these goblins' peaceful worship services just to take their stuff?I mean, killing orcs in Zek and Runnyeye goblins in the Enchanted Lands is one thing, because they're demonstrating malicious intent. But these goblins seem content to stay within their temple. Why should we bother them?Powers &8^]

Why should adventurers invade? Umm... I don't know what you interpretation was from reading the article, but the last part certainly jumped out at me. Some mysterious power give the head goblin a "gift" of a powerful crystal. Now after many years, the goblin and his main henchman are about to "unlock" the crystal's power.

Doesn't this just sound like a Pandora's box situation? I'm not convinced that this crystal is the most benign of objects in the first place. And even if it is non-dangerous by itself, would you really want a power tripping goblin to wield an item of extreme power?

First - please note that the story mentions TWO clans by name - the Tinkerer Nurgan tribe, and the now powerful Drogan tribe, which has the crystal. (Would this crystal be orb shaped perhaps? )Also, have you noticed that those are not Goblin skeletons decorating the Drogan temple of Nu'Roga...hrm...

I don't see anything saying they are about to unlock the power of the crystal, just that their temple is nearing completion. Here is a quote from the story.----Tuz'Rak, now High Shaman, oversaw the construction of the Temple of Nu'roga and recruited his most zealous shaman to help him unleash the energy, supposedly, found within the Gift of Nuthuddh.----Sounds to me like the crystal has shown no power to date, and might actually have no power at all.Hey look guys, over there, some goblins we haven't seen before, hey, lets go kill them and take their stuff !I say we send over a pali or two to work on negotiations and open free trade. If they kill the palis, well, nothing really lost and we can invade.

I don't need no "exuses" or "reasons" to smash my way into a bunch of goblins(or anyone for that matter) homes, beat the ever living crap out of them and then steal everything that isn't nailed down with nails I can't pull out.
