View Full Version : Wifes account closed by SOE. No contact, no reason, refuses to allow resubscription.

My wife couldn't log in today, the message said she had no EQ2 account. We had both re-subscribed a couple of weeks ago using the same CC card (as we always have done). Now out of nowhere they shut down her account for no discernable reason, don't even bother to tell her and refuse to accept the resubscription.I'm going to try and call support on Monday if I get chance but I'm just AMAZED the utter lack of any interest whatsoever in customer retention, at the sheer bloody-minded incompetence of a system that will not only cancel your account without even bothering to tell you, won't bother to tell you WHY they've closed it and then to top it all off, refuse your money when you attempt to re-subscribe and refuse to tell you why!!!Without doubt the most incompetent pay-for system I've ever seen in my life. It really is quite the accomplishment.

It seems for some reason, and I am not sure when, but they made recieving emails an "option" in their account page...So I used to always recieve updates on what was new with the game, and when events were, to never hearing anything unless I stumbled upon it myself.I would bet that the reason you didn't get the email is cause they disabled your recieving emails as well when they implemented this system...it is pretty lame.

It really is quite the accomplishment.</blockquote>would suggest that you check with your CC company - some of them have started denying mutliple charges for the same amounts to the same business within a specifc time period.

Apologies for the rant. I'll give soe a call later this afternoon (since it's on US time I think).I contacted my bank on the weekend and they said there had been no strange activity on the account.I've double-checked her account and card details but everything appears to be the same as mine, so I'm assuming it's a bug with the site. I know when I was checking our accounts it kept screwing up saying things $secretQuestionVar instead of the actual secret question. Hopefully they'll be able to put it through manually.

I didn't get chance to call as my wife unfortunately took ill so I was on nurse duty. In the end I've just put it through on my credit card instead of my debit card, which did work. It's less than ideal as the CC is for emergencies and billed seperately but I don't have much choice atm.<p>For what it's worth, I'd REALLY recommend the reg system have some real feedback put in place for when accounts are closed or card transactions refused. People really shouldn't have barriers put in place when trying to give you money.</p>
