I would say that it depends on what you both are looking for in a server. I am guessing that you don't have a guild so my first question would be are you interested in joining a guild and then of course, what type of Guild do you want to be involved in? If not now because of character level, do you want it to be a full-time raiding guild, (notice I did not use hardcore) or casual? There will be many EQ2 players, guild or not, that will tell you their server is really good, (or great.) I know this may not have helped you make a decision but if I were to suggest anything, I might say make a character or two and place them on different servers and watch channel chat to see activity. At the very least, go into the server forums here and read a little in different ones to see what kind of posts come out of there. Whatever you decide on, best of luck to you both and Happy Adventuring!

I suggest trying Antonia Bayle, from what I understand it is the most populated server and I know that it has an outstanding community. levels 1-9 chat can be quite childish, much like Barrens chat in WoW but thats no big deal. Lots of people in all level ranges to adventure with but not so many that everytihng is overcamped, I really enjoy the Ab server. Hop on and look me up!

I would log in during what will be your peak play times.

Go through the character creation until there's a choice of servers. Then see which ones have a population load that you want.

You can also try making a character on several different servers and chatting with the people who are on during your peak times and seeing how things look from there.

No, not very RP really. I like the RP servers mainly because they seem to have the more mature player base, thats not official, just my feelings. just RP'ish enough to encouter interresting people from time to time but but not so much as to be annoying, even if your very anti RP you probably wojnt be annoyed.

Oddly enough, we are going to post a guide to server selection in just a little bit. It's actually going to be interesting to see how all the returning players affect populations on the servers, and where things shift... and really, there are no bad choices as long as you are in the rules set that you prefer.

Another returning player here. Currently downloading all the patches and such that have come out since i quit. Per the server guide; I'd like to suggest you guys put in something about suggested (if there is a suggested) west coast servers. I've recently moved to the west coast and the biggest issue I have with playing MMOs now is finding one (or finding a server) that has a decent amount of players for late night PST gaming. I've been reading some of the server forums, but its hard to get a good picture of the timezone layout based on a few forum posts.

I just returned thru this promotion and brought 2 friends with me. We decided to all roll up on the Unrest server. I'm crossing my fingers it's not a wasteland like the SWG servers!

Should they have chosen another server? I think so but they do not have too. I like RP, I dont bother with it much because I dont feel that the game promotes it well at all.

Im standing by my statement, its not very RP at all, very rarely have I joined a pick up group and been talked to in character with some exception, a foul mouth is not rolplaying a jerk, ninja looting under the disclaimer of "Im a Brigand" is not RP imo.
