Many people claim that they can solo triple ^ named yellow or red. I never saw anyone doing it so it's probably less trivial han what forum poster claim. I was wondering how mystic can do that. I almost got killed at 44 by Opticron a robot in steamfont (42 ^^^). My gear is not very good but my spell are ad3 or m1. The guy was hitting for 600-700and i got lucky since reslow was not resisted and my pet was not killed by aoe.No doubt a yellow nammed ^^^would totally destroy me. I used the following strategy : double shield up (group , single target) pull with long casting slow.hail of the ancient quick casting slow. HO with the grey wind combat art + disease combat art Reshield single target HO with wrath of the ancient art ...I used phalange too and pet bite leg.I tried to kept myself shield, got t reslow the mob after a while and to also heal.I ended up burning Eldolic protection. I won by a rather small margin.I don't see other strategies.Should i had other weaker debuffs ? i wonder time is limited while i cast debuf i do not attack or heal/sheld myself.Should i kite ? Well technically the fast casting slow is also a weak snare and phalange is either a snare or a root.Should i buy a fullset of ebonite (honestly i don't think it will change a lot).

Ask yourself why you are trying to kill heroics . . . is there a real reason? Honestly, you're going to get a better return on your time investment knocking down solo con mobs. Most people who solo heroics are just doing it once or twice to prove a point, or to advance a quest. You need to be using all your STA debuffs, those are pretty important when trying to take out something with that many HP. DPS debuffs, both Umbral Trap and Mourning Soul are huge for cutting down damage when the fight duration is long. You're also not at the point where you have Torpor / Stoicism yet, which is very helpful when solo'ing difficult content. You don't have Slothful Spirit, another source of damage. And yes! Gear is important. Very important. Having good spells is only half the battle. You are accustomed to solo mobs where you can EASILY overheal to compensate for gear shortcomings. When fighting heroic content, every little weakness becomes magnified.

Additionally you're referring to a Named mob (and final mob for a quest which may answer bandit's question ) which are inherently more difficult than standard heroic mobs. In fact, I think you did just fine considering. You're not going to be hitting white/yellow heroics without a significant 'investment' in spells/gear- you won't( as a mystic) ever kill an orange/red ^^^ without some kind of divine interference, they hit for a ton and you'll never hit them.

Well don't blame me for trying alone, i tried to get a partner but the population at my level is lowand most people are simply willing to get fast xp and don't quest neither go to dungeons. I will get a better gear but due to prices i decided to do as my guildies adviced me : wait cobalt since it does not cost more than steel.Next time i will also use the two debuff i never use, the one that reduce resistance (illusion line) and the one that reduces dps.

I soloed him as well, mainly because no one else was on in my guild and couldnt find anyone to help. I did it by double prewarding, then pulling wiht a fright hex doll reduces attack speed, then casting the dps debuff as the mob was incoming. As soon as he gets in range use the AA root back up and pop the rest of the debuffs on him. This makes his hits much more manageable, I did this at lvl 42 so he was even con, I killed him with like 5% power and 30% health left usign the E-wards.

Also take into account if the mob is a Original mob, a DoF mob, KoS mob, EoF mob , or RoK mob as they are all designed with different things. The original/DoF mobs were designed before AAs existed and as such are very easy, once you hit KoS zoens the mobs will become a bit harder as AAs where started then, buthte mobs were more than liekly designed with the player only having a few AAs and only the class specific ones, no subclass until EoF. This means EoF the mobs are much harder as they were designed with the fact that everyone had close to 50 AAs already and had a new AA tree opened up to them and could get 100AA total hence making them harder, And RoK is harder yet.

If soem one if soloing yellow herioc names it is more than likely a Original or DoF mob as with AAs you should be about twice as powerful as was intended when the mob was designed.
