Unable to load client past Trying Login Server X since patch. [Archive]

Currently I am able to login to the patcher, trace pretty much any world server and various other servers inside the sony network. However when I attempt to load to either chracter select or to a specific character I get stuck at the rotating "Trying Login Server 1 though X" message. which appears to be dying just inside the sony network past or inside the following box. sony.ge4-6.fr4.lax.llnw.net [68.142.78.86] This box replys as you will see in the traces below but whatever is on the other side is not happy about something.My environment is locked down tighter then a drum - nothing is deployed or changed unless I know about it. Nothing has changed on my end EXCEPT the download of GU44. While I doubt that the GU is the cause - something happend at that point in time to cause EQ to no longer be able to establish and hold a connection.I have already tried the following.<ol><li>Turned off software firewall (which it was working fine with) - No change</li><li>Shut down norton 360 - which was working in harmony with EQ2 before. - No Change </li><li>Full file Scan - No Change</li><li>Full Reinstall form original EQ2 CD then a download of all updates - No Change</li><li>Set all known eq ports based on the informaiton available on this site to the machine - No Change</li><li>Place the box in the dmz of my router (linksys wr54G). - No change</li><li>Remove the router (linksys wr54G) from the network and direct connect my box to the modem - no change</li></ol>Something is not happy somewhere out there. I am having the exact same problem. as are several other people. I have yet to see any sort of official responce from sony on this issue(hint hint). Maybe they will post somthing to at least let us know they are actually trying something. On top of what you have tried I have also tried my secound account and another computer in my house and I have the same result. Also not that I can play Vanguard which is an SOE product just fine. It sounds like something on their end thats messed up.

Grunts I feel your pain for sure. There are several posts about this problem with lots of noise in them. KNowing how difficult it is to trouble shoot these kinds of problems lets try and make this a very concise and clean report of the problem and what has been done so far to rectify the problem. I will update my post with what others have done and if you can edit yours and make sure you include traces to good and bas destinations that would be great. I believe this is a Sony issue as well but I am not yet conviced it is due to GU44 but maybe a network maintenance issue. I would like to compile a list of traces that show where your coming from and see which box is dying. I have a feeling we are all going to find we are choking on the same box. Also please dont post to this post with suggestions or speculation unless you are a TSR. If you have the problem and have done something different to what is already listed please post that with your results. I would like to make this as easy as possible for the support team to fix. I want to play, I want to pay. Jut help us figure out why we cant. One more thing in order to avoid each responder getting the have you tried A B and C yet. Please also include in your posts what you have already tried with no luck in a similar numberd list. Lets make it very difficult for them to ignore this issue.
