My gear seems pretty good... I thought I did my AA well..Is the zerker class just doomed to not soloing in Kylong til like 70-71?Any ideas on how to boost my dps? AA or otherwise?

most classes couldn't solo there sub level 70 unless they had excellent gear, what are you expecting?

I guess I was expecting to solo mobs at my lvl (i.e. 6...I was also expecting that when SoE said it's a lvl 65 to 80 area, it would be just that...The thing is.. I've done SO many of the solo quests so all I have are grp quests/dungeons/solo xp grinding..finding a grp at 68 these days has been murder.. soooo i just lose motivation.

i was 70 when it was released, in fabled gear and the mobs still hit fairly hard, i'm sure it would be pretty rough on a level 68 zerk, some classes just are easier to solo with. sony's descriptions aren't always accurate as i'm sure you've noticed a few times here or there.. lol

at 70 I was getting killed by level 68 solo mobs. If I used everything I had against them, I'd stay alive but would be down to a quarter health. I finished up some Bonemire/loping plains quests to get 71 before I came back. The mobs hit like trucks so it's not you. I know I duo'ed a lot of the docks (dregs landing) quests with a guildie and that, of course, was much easier. It gets a lot easier when you get to 71-72.

I started soloing in Kylong Plains since level 65, it was HARD AS HELL at that level since the only things i could kill were some spiders and skellies at the ruins. At 66 and up i returned there and started doing quest by quest, always solo. At 67 it started being easy, so it is perfectly possible to solo there. My spec? 2 Handed weapon spec, believe it or not, that's what i use. I used to use a STR / INT spec - i didnt have the necessary points to put some on Wis yet. My first spec up until 69/70 was STR up to the final skill and rest on INT.Then, with enough points already, i have changed to 4-4-8 STR / 4-4-8-8-2 WIS / 4-4-8-8 INT and growing.I tried the famous buckler spec at 70, made a lot of parsing and guess what? My DPS was lower than with my 2 handed spec, never looked back ever since, but then again this is the way i play cause i solo a LOT.But believe me, from 66 and up it is perfectly possible to SOLO in Kylong (and i have very few masters/adept III with me).Strangely enough, i never saw many players of the same levels soloing there, in fact they were very, very rare.

All of RoK hits real hard... it's normal to have issues... especially if you are in like Xegonite mastercrafted or something near that quality.IMHO... if you are not 70... get out of kunark and do the zones you haven't been in yet... you NEED that AA from the quests... you are skipping them and they will go grey and you will have to grind EXP for way longer than just doing the quests available to you now.To me it's not so much of a "can you solo it?" but a question of "why are you even there?"Gaining AA via mob grinding is not the way to do it.... you should reassess your leveling pattern before it's too late... I had 100 AA on all 3 toons when I hit Kunark at lvl 70... I am stuck at 132 AA on pretty much all of them.. and I did like 300 quests in RoK... if you hit RoK under 100 AA... I feel sorry for you... because you want to hit 100 to invest in the next 20 in warrior tree... so if you hit 80 without 120 AA IMHO you are gimped... so you need to focus on hitting 120 by 80... 140.. eh... would be nice... but not nearly as critical. Not to criticize you... but more of a personal warning from what I have seen and the damage you might have to undo later.

Lvl 68 started soloing Fens with only minor head aches.

Monk, didn't die that much, but didn't kill much of anything really, feign death is your friend .

My typical duo partner, a Shadow Knight, had issues soloing Kylong at 69 and she's spec'd as a Rever which gives her health on almost every time she hits a foe.

My Zerker, haven't gotten to the mid 60's yet, but glad to know what to expect with him.

Common denominator seems to be they hit HARD but are mostly melee. My Ranger is solo spec'd with major weight through into snare and root related AA's so unless bad luck kicks in or I brain fart I can keep a solo mob from closing to melee range. When they do luckily I have a hth stun that usually sticks because just one or 2 hits smacks me down a full third of my health.

Seems to me Kunark is the perfect excuse to get an AA mirror, it almost needs its own AA spec to survive if you're going to solo.

My Paladin had a lot of trouble in Kylong Plains until I did a reevaluation and changed some of my playing habits.- I got my shield out. Until now I had been using exclusively 2H weapons.- I tried defensive mode -> bad idea, I can't do any damage- I looked around for +defense items to ensure my defense was not below the level max in offensive mode- I warded myself before pulling (admittedly this is a Paladin thing, but maybe berserkers have things they can do before battle for better protection?)- I changed around the order of my abilities a bitGetting mastercrafted armor at 72 helped a lot as I was primarily equipped with low 60s treasured gear. At 74 in the Jungle, I can now take on multiple yellows (well, two anyways) where one would have killed me before. Still hate those C-9 units tho...

I'm not sure if there was a large difference between 70 and 68. Also not sure of the number of AAs you had, but at 70 it was np at all. If I had my open wound and destruction up, I would pull 2 - 3 at a time.

There were a couple of exceptions though. The spiders that mez/stun, I would single pull (leaving room for 1 add, 2 adds meant trouble), since they would mez/stun the crap out of me. I finaly learned to use my stuns (the 2 shield bashes, and the stifles in the right order). Maximizing the durations (not overlaping durations). It made them much easier.

The difference is that Kylong is harder than anywhere else at that level, even for equal level mobs. Kunark mobs in general are just harder, and it's something that has to be dealt with.

I don't think that it is anything you have done wrong. Those mobs in rok expansion just flat out hit hard period no matter what zone you will be in. My zerker's armor is totally fabled and while I could solo single dracnids outside of the dock area they would still get me to at least 15% health before I had them down. If I got an add I just died lol. It is just to be expected with this expansion with the nice master crafted/quested weapons damage ratings soe made these mobs just hit alittle harder imho. Anyways that is just my take on the mobs of rok.

mobs in rok hit hard, you will see you gonna have troubles with 3 blue con mobs.

tip of the day, get a healer to join your group

scnr

I went solo in RoK from lvl 70 to 80. I was killing 4 levels above me and sometimes 5 depending on how I prepared for fight. If you are wanting to solo in that zone just try to position yourself to get one mob at a time and have sprint handy lol.

As you level in RoK make sure to use the gear you find. Some of the treasured stuff is better than T7 fabled. Do every quest you can get to get your faction up, because you'll need it later when questing for some really great Legendary gear.

I have never seen a zone that is so generous for loot off of trash mobs
