Hi,A friend of mine has some performance problems in some special situations. I like to help him by finding out if it's network-lag or if it's just performance-lag from his computer. The new F11 performance-window should be excellent for this but it dont appear to him after he is pressing F11. Also some other friends of mine have this problem. And they dont use any UI-Customization.So, what can be done to show this window?thanks.

are you running a player made ui....if so you will have to add a couple of lines of code to get the connection window to show as well as the new pet window...just switch back to the defeult ui untill you can fix it.

You may want to backing up and deleting the cache folder, eq2_recent.ini, eq2_default.ini, EverQuest2.exe and all files named after the character with which you're having this issue. The character specific files will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this please follow these directions:1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the directory in the default directory:2. Click on MY COMPUTERC<img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />RIVEPROGRAM FILESSONYEVERQUEST II3. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 4. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

also do something a bit simpler....check your keyboard setting in the ui window and see if f11 is set for that window....i found out mine wasnt.

A friend of mine also found that it wasn't set for her either. Once she set it, it works fine.

Dan-I am experiencing a problem with the new ping window. The window is appearing as a black rectangle with no graphic.Hovering over different parts of the black rectangle pops up the mouse tool 'frames per second' 'bytes per second' and 'packet loss' It is mapped to F11 (hitting F11 will toggle the black rectangle on/off), use the completely default UI and have done everything you mentioned above.I have adjusted all the 'window settings' - no changeAny help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.<img src="http://webpages.charter.net/vilayet/ping.jpg" alt="" border="0" />Thanks,Vila

That's very strange, if you have deleted all the files above, it should be the default version of that fileAlso try /loadui and reload the default UI, if that doesn't work we'll need to track down that UI file and make sure it gets redownloaded by the patcher.

Dan-Still no luck.If possible, can you tell me what exact files were added for the new window so I can remove those specifically and re-patch?Thanks,Vila

The connection stats window is eq2ui_mainhud_connectionstats.xmlA change was also made to eq2ui_mainhud.xml

<p>I had exactly the same problem with the black rectange but no graph. the reason was that i use a custom UI that alters the file </p><p>eq2ui_mainhud.xml</p><p>When the stat window was added having this as a custom file meant that the new window was not added. In order to see it you will need to find this file in your custom UI folder, open it up and add this line to the list.</p><p>eq2ui_mainhud_connectionstats.xml</p><p>When you restart EQ2 (i.e. log all the way out and rerun the patcher) the connection stats window should be working correctly.</p>

I wanted to add something I just found out with this connection stats window. I have had the problem of it not appearing since it was added, and F11 was mapped to the window the first day as well. I had given up on it even though I really wanted to see it, and last night started fooling around with the suggestions DanT made. I got that to work on my main, but each time I logged in a new character, even though I'd deleted the .ui files for them, still a problem.Today I was trying it again, and had noticed last night the position for the window was defaulted to 1,744 (I believe) in the .xml file, so I was concentrating my search up to the right. I play in MAXIMIZED window mode, not full-screen/letterbox, and I think this is the issue, at least on my game. While I was moving my windows around trying to restore my config and mapping (since it was lost by deleting the files) and hitting F11 on one of the characters that wasn't working, I noticed a very small glow appear up under my minimize/restore/close buttons on the window bar. That looked very suspicious, so I right clicked, and there was an unlock window option, and I was able to grab and drag the connection stats window out.I just experimented with full screen mode; it made no difference. The window was still outside of the screen but the bottom edge was more noticeable than with the window bar there. I DO have "allow windows off-screen" checked, but unchecking that made no difference either. So if anyone is still having the problem, try hitting the F11, making sure you have no windows covering the upper right of the screen by the minimize/restore/close if you are using maximized, and look for a glow there (you can even try right clicking beneath those if you don't see a glow; I got the unlock window option on one character when I couldn't see it). If you're playing full-screen letterbox you may more easily see the bottom edge of the window at the very top edge of your screen on the upper right.I hope this helps someone else because I was able to restore the files I had deleted, get all my key mappings and configurations back, and still get the connection window finally.

<p>To add to what Daryx suggested,</p><p>Whenever I lose one of my windows I will usually hit the f10 button once so I get what I would call the 'hard' borders on all windows. That usually makes it stand out enough that I'm able to track it down. </p><p>Thanks for the good info Daryx</p>
