See topic. It's a laptop graphics card, so I wasn't sure if my laptop can handle eq2. I tried installing and got the following error on launch:I'm guessing it's just the graphics card being incompatible? I tried installing the newest version of Catalyst, didn't change the error. BTW, this is on Windows Vista.

Try making sure you have the most up to date version of the drivers for your card. Also, it looks like you're running Vista.Try these two steps as well.Let me know it that doesn't help.

Just got finished trying that stuff, got the same error. Gonna try downgrading the video drivers to 7.10 as that's the recommended one listed here. I'll post back when I see how that goes. The error is kind of odd, though, especially considering I DON'T have an E drive... o_O And yes, I'm using Vista, which also means DX10.Yep, didn't work. Though looking at the device it's looking for, DX10 of course would have "10" and not "9" so that may be related.

I believe your graphics card is integrated, ie it's part of the motherboard as opposed to being a free-standing card that is plugged into the motherboard.

Whether sound or graphics, integrated cards are bad news for gaming as, many would say, is Vista. Put the two together (in a laptop what's more) and it might explain your problem.

I'll now sit back and wait for all those experiencing no problems with either the X1270, Vista, or both - in a laptop - to post.... !

Yeah, I figured it would be the card. OTOH, considering my laptop can run Oblivion, you'd think it'd at least be able to handle EQ2's graphics. *shrugs*

Try this for me as well. Some times you'll need to install this to get it to work properly.http://help.station.sony.com/cgi-bi...hp?p_faqid=1795
