Since no one else has brought it up, I thought I'd share the first picture of our epic. It's concept art but looks pretty sweet so far.

Ten Ton Hammer's preview of Warden and Warlock Epics.

I don't want to sound overly negative, so let me say that in and of itself the concept art for the Warden weapon looks very interesting. It reminds me of a stylized version of that Klingon weapon (Batlif, or something like that) that I remember Worf using in some episodes of TNG rather than a weapon a Warden would wield

It's a nice looking weapon, but maybe I just am not imaginative enough to not want a Scimitar, or at least a stout club or staff

I was really looking forward to a scimitar but this IS kind of cool...looks kind of like two scimitars together and I said another thread it makes us the "Darth Mal" of the druids!

Keep in mind, it's concept art not the final draft. Also, all of the epics are supposed to have an animation. I'm not sure how that one would be animated. I think it would be really odd to see us wielding this weapon though since we can't weild any 2HS to my knowledge atm. If this was weilded one handed it would just look akward imo.

If it's a 2H of any kind../boggle. I dont want a 2H. It'd be good though - will save me the time of having to do a huge, long, stupid campy quest anyway.

And I agree, it's not very druid-ish at all.

I would be interested to know if this is going to work like duel weild dmg?

Ok...first impression was my stomach just dropped Disappointment....then some kind of shock set in...hehe

I'm a female fae warden, I don't really wish to weild a *klingon* weapon I talked to some guildies and well...I guess it could possibly be ok if it has decent particle effects AND a nice swinging animation to it. What would be cool is if it has the same swing animation as the bo staffs that monks use. I really really hope they didn't give it a lame swing I'm REALLY trying to be positive here since we haven't seen an actual screenshot of it but honestly, it's not at ALL anything near what I thought it would be. And while some of you klingon fans might find it wonderful, it really is not very druidish at all

Oh well, we shall see. Maybe it's not all that bad.

As a Warden who plans to spec melee everytime I'm not raiding (and even then prolly thru several trash mobs) I'm kinda likeing the more melee-ish looking weapon. I'm more or less happy it isn't covered in flowers or shoots bunnies out the ends. Covered in thorns with perhaps a growing vines thing on it I can live with. Also this weapon is not something that to me anyways would not look right swung as most weapons are now. We may get some kind of new animation.

I'm Micheal Dorn and I'm a Warden

Hop on over to the fury board and check out what they get....exactly what I hoped we would get, a scimi reminiscent of the first Epic in EQ1. Is it me? Do the devs hate wardens? I don't get it.

Dunno why we couldn't both get a scimitar..one glowy red, one cool green, with appropriate stats. Oh. wait. I'm talking about our devs. Sorry.

I'll be quite disappointed if we get a Slashing rather than Bashing weapon. Considering that we aren't allowed to have 2H slashing at the moment I'd imagine that most melee Wardens have neglected Slashing to a large degree, I don't think that I've used mine since mid-60's.

Not only that but all of us Fae Wardens need big Hamma's. You can't beat the sight of a Fae doing an overhead bash with both feet flying up to show the true power of the hit.

Just because you have neglected your slashing skill, we shouldn't get a slash weapon? LOL...(I kid). Not having played EQ1, I understand that the scimitar was sort of the class druid weapon of choice? Is that because it was the epic then?

Since I started EQ life long long ago as a melee Shaman, then became a Warrior then a Guardian before being a Warden it was second nature to keep all weapon skills up. Plus I always associated Scimitars with Druids. It's just my opinion, but slashing just "feels" more melee than crushing.

I've picked up a few crushing weapons here and there in my (admittedly short) Warden career, but for some odd reason, it just doesn't FEEL quite right to be tapping on the mob with a hammer or whacking stick (well, maybe one of the ones that uses the bo animation would work :p ) compared to hacking away with a good blade, especially when I get those nice, Force of Nature assisted crits on one of my CAs :3

As far as 2 handed use, I say let the clerics have 2 handed hammers, clerics and hammers going together like shaman and spears. Give me two handed sword. Thats called class flavor. Right now only shaman have a unique (and furys for the fabled sword from kos but thats cause the devs love them) 2 handed weapon. Let all the priest classes be unique. cleric-hammer, shaman-spear, druid-sword.

Oh I wish. No one in befallen's 80 chat wants to share crap. I've searched all the logical places based on eq1 druid lore. All druid rings, enchanted lands, rivervale, elddar, zek, all over kunark, just about everywhere.

Going crazy here. Can't find crap. Think I found sk, ranger, fury and possibly paladin, but not ours.

Of course I have nfc what I'm even looking for lol. Could be a rock or a tree, a fish, a harvested thing, body drop, and npc hail. Who knows. I did notice a huge [Removed for Content] tree in middle of steamfont druid rings that no one seems to remember being there. But it's not clickable or anything.

I am frankly getting a little aggravated, it seems a large amount of the starters have been found, there is word going around that information on the fury starter was leaked to them before the update went even live, but yet, all I find on the forums is a dev telling us that the starters are a puzzle for us to find and figure out, but we can't even find the riddle giver while furies are already jalf way through their quest... if it was a puzzle for us to figure out, then why aren't they all equally easy or hard, and how come certain classes get a head start with info being thrown at them?! I just feel like I am sitting there wasting my time running around zones and looking under stones, reading all possible chat channels, seeing at least 100 wardens work together on guk.warden but nothing is being found. That's just odd....

I'm nowhere near the level to get my epic but I have been looking at starters and shaking my head...for some classes it seems to easy to start the class and others not so much. Make the quests hard by all means but make them all as equally hard or easy to start. I have found nothing. And no one is talking on my server. Furies however apparently start in darklight wood and are in fact quite a ways into their quests while we are still running aorund trying to click on every tree rock and shrub on Norrath.
