Unable to Update (EQ II)

<p>Hi all:I brought ROK and tried it on my family's home computer, it was very slow but otherwise worked. I brought it home and installed again, logged in, waited for the system to analyze my files, then awaited download.</p><p>But everytime the file machine will download 1-2 files(always same name), then say "Download canceled"~10 seconds later, I been trying to patch it for half a dozen times, including restarting the patcher. I estimate I still got 5Gig on my comp post CD installation, which I thought is enough. I run Window Vista but otherwise superior in everyway to my home computer.</p><p> Does anyone know is there a way for me to patch the game without the Auto-patcher? Otherwise I am going to have to cancel subscrption... </p>

Right click the EQ2 icon and click "run as administrator"

Sometimes, the Compatibility tab isn't enough to make the game work properly in Vista. You might want to try this:Click Start, then Search.Type MSCONFIG and press enter, click the tools tab and search for Disable UAC.Highlight it and click on launch.A DOS window will open and execute a command. When it finishes, close the window and restart your system.Best regards,Richard

Thanks, I manage to get it to download, but now I ran  into a second problem where everything on my screen is extremely dark...
