View Full Version : Do you know of a good place to eat?

01-08-2008, 05:49 PM

There are a few hearty souls across Norrath that not only set up a home to be a bar or restaurant, but they actually open such a home to their fellow travellers! Do you know of any establishments like this on your server, a place where you can get a good bite to eat and maybe even get a talkin' to by the waitstaff? If you know of such a place, or you run your own, let me know! I'd like to spotlight some hearty establishments with a write-up and screenshots of your hard work (and get a bite to eat and maybe throw back a drink, too).

~Gnobrin!

I keep trying to setup a bar in Qeyons, but the Zoning Board there is obviously racially discriminant against Ratongas! No sooner do I enter the city then the guards start beating me like a common household rodent! *hrmmph*

I really enjoyed your pictures. Great setup : )

There's also the Bookworm... a bit of a Library Coffee shop in the back alley of South Qeynos, and the small Whisker & Paw Inn, both also run by the Vagabond Knights. Great establishments, though sometimes, like the Eency Weency Spider, of questionable reputation.(Pics to come)

I would like to recommend the Laughing Ogre tavern, 2 Bayle Court on the Antonia Bayle server, under 'Klumpp'. The guild hall of the Legacy of Honor, the first floor serves as a community tavern, which is opened to the public every Monday night at 9pm Eastern.Powers &8^]

Telis was nice enough to mention the Bookworm Cafe, so I'll present the pics <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Actually, I haven't taken screenshots of the place in a long while, so some of the decor has changed. But the overall layout is the same.

The Bookworm Cafe is a cozy coffee shop and cafe in South Qeynos, featuring gourmet coffees and teas, chilled juices, fine wines, ice cold Brells on tap, a selection of muffins and pies, and the special soup of the day. Sheesh.. any possibility you kind folks on AB would consider transferring to Venekor and setting up shop?! I want to visit all of those places in this thread but I fear I'd be so distracted trying to figure out why I can't attack the guy sitting next me. *pouts*

/comfort Spyder

One of my wardens is still on Venekor, but it's taken almost a year now to get where I don't jump 3 feet high when someone near me stealths. I don't think that warden will be seeing any playtime soon. Hehehe. Does Shadow Guard still hold any of their events at the Blood Haze?

There are several Freeport restaurants/taverns on Venekor.

The Dragon's Flagon is owned and operated by Shadow Guard. It is located at 7 Compassion Road, North Freeport. When the High Priestess is present, the drinks are all on the house. It is always being worked on, so the set up can change from event to event. The third floor holds an outdoor stage for aspiring bards to perform and the bar area itself has a small stage for entertaining purposes. I do not have any available pictures to post at this time. It was moved recently from West Freeport to North, so its hours of operation were suspended for a time.

Shadow Maw Restaurant is owned by a ratonga named Kesk. It is opened usually once a week and boasts a wide selection of dishes to enjoy while carousing with your Freeport comrades. It is located in South Freeport at 1 Freedom Road, listing under Kesk.

Tunare's sweet tootsies, you've floored me, all!

I've personally visited one tavern already, and I'll drop in on others as time permits. I'll try to make this a usual feature on EQIIPlayers, with screenshots and information from each tavern/bar/restaurant. As I progress through the list, I'll contact the "runners" of that establishment, so I can get more information to help fill out the article!

Thank you SO much, and I hope to drop in on your establishment soon!

The everhungry gnome... ~Gnobrin!

-The Following is a Presentation from the Antonia Bayle Server-Kunark. A land of mystery and intrigue. Tyranny and war. The Iksar and Di'zok rage a war, but on Timorous Deep, in the volcanic city of Gorowyn... there is a place where all races may come. This is... the Scaled Hand! With a beautiful upfront bar, the Scaled Hand has had patrons both Sarnak, Iksar, Kerra, Ratonga, and Human, and even a few elves once in awhile. Also the side is a study, where bookworms, bards, and storytellers will find themselves right at home!To the other side is a comfortable lounge, several fireplaces, and even a hot tub for those who wish to relax. The Scaled Hand is the place for all adventurers, especially those native to Kunark!P.S. Sathirians will be slaughtered at the door.Co-Owned by Telkon Al'Rok and Thrizzik DrexxilizThe Scaled Hand is in Timorous Heights - the Non Status 5 Room Housing in Gorowyn, under the name "Scaledhand"

Hellos! Kesk here. Unfortunately, I do not have any screenies to post featuring the Shadowmaw, and I do not open it regularly for real-life reasons (*shakes fist*) But I am making an effort to revive that tradition of opening daily at 6pm CST. So come one come all, once I send out my super macro that covers four channels.

Heh, I will admit that the Shadowmaw is much less fabulous than the rest of 'em. Freeport houses need more space ^-^

Outstanding, all! I'm writing up the "Hungry Gnome" feature now (the name's still in question), having visited "The Eensy Weensy Spider". That'll be up soon and in the meantime, I'll drop in to the other various establishments that have been listed here. Hopefully, I can get more attention to the local taverns, bars, restaurants, piano bars and other places of good repute, to get you more traffic! If I take a little time getting to your place, don't worry. I've listed them all here, and I shall be making my rounds as I can as the weeks roll on.

~Gnobrin!

You said nothing about good repute in your original post. *sulks*
