The topic says it all. There is no point keeping people in the dark about their infarmy xp. And beside if people can see how much infarmy is needed or how much xp they get from sertain titles. Maybi there would be more pvp.

What people will see is, "Im almost ready to ding next title, better be careful who/what/when/where I fight".People will run even more than they do now, and we all know, we dont need anymore running.

I vote for the removal of titles... how about that?

Divide the amount of fame you gain per kill by 10 and remove fame loss. Only get fame while in a group of 3 or smaller and remove evac from PVP servers FTW.

They took the only means of tracking fame away quite some time ago, when they ruined the forums and EQ2players

I think the current system has been dumb from the beginning. Get rid of titles, sure...or make them worth something like discounted housing or something. That said, tell me where it makes any sense that if you kill someone higher you don't get fame. Duh, wouldn't that increase your fame/infamy....a slayer takes out a champion would be worth something...at least to normal people. If they stick with the system perhaps they should hold it where you gain from 1 below or 3 above...something at least a little more realistic.

I do think some of the posts are right though, you would constantly get even more runners if the title wasn't healthy for people to fight if they know they are close to losing a title. I have seen the issue on both sides in chat: 14 in caves, the response, what title? Who cares, what happened to killing for the sake of killing if you are in the level range? The xp bar would just magnify the problem most likely.

lol i just say if they took away titles it would get really boring. i mean titles is a sertain goal. the higher title the harder it gets, and in most cases the titles is an show of skill. and i know there is tons of people who protect their titles and never fight fair. And dont tell me title dosent have anything with skill to do. then i /laugh.

Lets say there are 2 person of the same classes same lvls, (solo PVP)both plays 2 weeks and both does only pvp. and the first one gets only up to hunter title and the other make it up to we can say champion. Then we can for 100% say that the champion is more skilled than the other. So titles is also skills. But what i love in titles is that there is a goal for me in pvp, and a challange. the higher title the harder is it. and as an exile i would see no fun owning people whitout no reward. And im constantly seeking for onevones with people with high titles. And there are 2 reasoons, I want to gain fame. And i want to fight skilled people. i love fights who are worth dying in.

And for those people who dont care about titles and just laugh and ignores em or cant gain em. this would be perfect for em. Because if they see how much to next (level) Title, it could make em intrested to gain em.

Its sad you belive that titles is nothing about skills. I know there are tons of people that arent worth their titles. But i just laugh and pity em. And they are well awer of it.

There would be even more running than there is now and I hate when people run whent heir aobut to die. Personally, I think when a player in orange and even red who decides to run to escape death, should have their in combat speed decreased by 50% if orange, and 100% if red. The end result would mean less running since the chance of escaping is near impossible.

I mean, think about it. Say if I'm fighting in a war IN REAL LIFE and I get shot in the chest twice and in the leg once. I decide, OH SHIIIIIIT, I NEED TO ESCAPE BEFORE THESE BUGGERS KILL ME!! TIME TO PUT ON THE JETS AND HIGHTAIL IT OUT OF HERE!!! Ummmmm, how far will I be able to run and how fast?? Hmmm, very very slowly for about 20 yards, then I'd drop to the ground. Lets relate this to EQ2. U see a scout getting owned by a fury. He's down to red after the fury unleashed a devasting strike of thunder. He decides to stun the fury, then run to save his life. He runs like Carl Lewis and manages to escape death after taking 2 point blank range SOT's, along with dot's etc. I mean, hmmm how realistic does that sound? His movement rate should be penalized especially when near death. If a movement penalty is implemented, you'll see less running, and more people dying!

I don't believe there is a real accurate, mathematic mechanic to infamy anyway.I've gained a title, then lost infamy 5x, and not lost it. Then I've gotten a title, gotten 5-10 hits into it, taken one loss and dropped title. Most my pvp is solo. I understand that group/raid infamy is not as significant as solo, but the majority of my pvp'ing has always been done solo.

Titles should remain in the game but the current system definitely needs a revamping, BAD!!

Anyone can earn titles, even horrible pvpers. Lets say you are level 26 and u like to hang out in BB next to the lower level 20-22 areas. You spend a good 5 hours a day killing level 20-22's, and I mean annhilating them with your super l33t level 28 super twinked skillz. No one can beat you cause,,,,your,,,,just,,,,,a,,,,beast... You earn your titles every week and now your a level 29 champion. Well, by killing all those noobs, you made 3 levels. In that time you became a champion by killing people who had no chance of killing you, YAY!!! YOUR GREAT!!! Now, obviously you dont deserve that title because you basically "cheated" your way to fame by killing nubies.

Here's what I propose.

1) If you are 4-8 levels higher than the opponents you kill, you recieve very very very little fame, even less amount for killing lowbies 7-8 levels lower than you. The amount of fame you earn will be so low, you'll outlevel your current tier before earning your first title therefore choosing to kill lowbies will be pointless and a waste of time.

2) If you still decide to kill lowbies cause of how much you truly suck at pvp and lets say a duo group kills you, the amount of fame you lose will equal the amount of fame you would have gained if you killed 30 lowbies 6-8 levels lower than you. So, not only is killing lowbies pointless in regards of fame, but it would also be dangerous because if you die, you'll lose ALOT of fame!

3) Those who solo kill opponents of a higher level will recieve a considerable amount of fame, depending on how much higher level your opponent is. For example, if he/she's 1 level higher, you'll earn say 20% more, 2 levels higher you'll earn 30% more, etc etc until 8 levels higher.

4) Group "gank" specialists killing those ungrouped will also recieve very very little fame, especially if killing those that are 3-8 levels lower than them. Also, if one of the group members die, you'll lose so much fame, you'll think twice of heading to noob areas to gank people which would probably cause you to quit the game and go back to halo and cs where u gankers belong!!!

5) Titles should be considered as "honorable" rankings. Once you earn a title, people should recognize you as a "good" pvper. But with this [Removed for Content] system, titles and ranks mean nothing!

The system needs to change, not the titles and rankings themselves!!!

i agree with you a little. but you say its so easy to gain that champion title. okei maybi it is if he does it the right way. but in fact its the freedom we get in this game. to choose our play style. and if soe takes away all our personal freedoms, the game would start loosing its soul. But i bet the guy who got champ by farming lowbies, Will not gain drednaught/general if he dosent start fighting harder peeps, or roll in stronger groups. Because the people with high titles, is also more skilled or Will protect it 100%

We both started running, when a guy from different faction higher lvl came closer to us. And its no news a mezzer owns a wizard, when the mezzes takes away the ability to cast spells
