Greetings, I have a killer system and can only run EQ2 at the "high" setting. Even with this setting implemented, I still get FPS jumping!! I have a "Killer NIC" card that I run with my cable modem and have no problems with lag from the internet side. I believe that I should be able to run this game with Directx 10 and at full graphical settings without a hit to my FPS. I have installed all the Microsoft hot fixes for these cards directly from Microsoft's site. My display is a 22inch widescreen from viewsonic and run the game at 1680 x 1050. Please help me run this game at max settings. Thank you for your time. Here are my specifications directly off the Nvidia control panel:

NVIDIA System Information report created on: 12/18/2007 19:12:45[Display]Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ (2011 MHz)Operating System: Microsoft Windows VistaDirectX version: 10.0 GPU processor: GeForce 8800 GTXForceWare version: 163.75Total available graphics memory: 2047 MBDedicated video memory: 768 MBSystem video memory: 0 MBShared system memory: 1279 MBVideo BIOS version: 60.80.07.00.11IRQ: 18Bus: PCI Express x8GPU processor: GeForce 8800 GTXForceWare version: 163.75Total available graphics memory: 2047 MBDedicated video memory: 768 MBSystem video memory: 0 MBShared system memory: 1279 MBVideo BIOS version: 60.80.07.00.11IRQ: 19Bus: PCI Express x8

There are current motherboards that can run PCI Express x16 when running SLI. Your system board is running the 8800 GTX's at PCI Express x8. That's ashame!

However, this is not the cause of your performance woe's with this game. You are running Vista. You also are running in SLI with 8800 GTX's and Nvidia still has not turned out a reliable working driver for these cards in SLI.

There are a lot of threads on these boards in regards to this. Kick back and do some reading.

I have done mass amounts of reading in concern to this topic. None of the posts came to any conclusion. Some mentioned turning off SLI, did that. Some mention changing the water settings, did that. Antialiasing isn't working (at all), and still have really low FPS. On the topic of no computer being able to max out the settings, I did not know that about the game. What you're saying is EQ2 is a "next-gen" game like Crysis? They made the game to grow with the developing technologies? Hmm, I will look into that. As far as the Nvidia drivers go, it's like the game isn't even recognizing them. I make changes in the settings and they seem to have no effect in game. I recently tried Nhancer, and again, no changes seemed to take place in game. I think what I will do is reference other forum posts for people who are having similar issues.

Oh, I also just upgraded to an Asus PN532-E SLI motherboard

and an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6850 @ 3.00GHz (3000 MHz)

This was not a solution to my problems.

I figured out the AA problem:

input the line:

r_aa_blit 1

place it in the correct folder (ie c:program filesSonyEverQuest IIeq2.ini)?As far as I know this is the ONLY way to force EQ2 to use AA, not even by using "forced" settings in the nVidia CP will it be used unless you have that line in the mentioned .ini file, and I'm 100% sure that's the way it's always worked on the systems I've played it on.I currently have mine set at 8x AA (also have it set to "override any application settings" in the nvidia CP)/16x AF and it's playing decently.

As far as the performance and stuttering goes?
