Let me save you guys the trouble for the next 50 posts1 EQ2 is a GROUP BASED game, you have no right to complain when you roll solo2 L2PBTW, i subscribe to neither of the 2 beliefs that I just posted, but I figure we can save a lot of virtual hard disk space if we just get it out of the way. As a soloer, I feel your plight. I hardly ever group, and I would be the type of player to benefit from this; that being said, you're not going to like the rest. I am against anything that further limits the already too small window of viable PvP that's out there. There is nothing more frustrating than finding an enemy and not being able to attack them.Imagine this scenario and see what you think: You are partnered with a friend, and you come across two "solo-buttoned" PvPers in a heated battle. You and your friend watch as the one from your faction slowly loses the fight. You want more than anything to jump in and save your ally, but the enemy is protected by their solo status. Finally the enemy finishes off your ally, loots their chest, and laughs in your face.Again, I am the type of player who would benefit from this feature, but still I cannot agree with anything that adds immunities to the game.

Why not drop group and kill him ???? 1v1 when he finishes the fight also the guy has won a fair fight is that a bad thing ??.People want fair fights there not botherd what side wins the best player will win.

[email protected] wrote:
Why not drop group and kill him ???? 1v1 when he finishes the fight
In your system, does solo-button also lock you out of combat if you are already fighting? If it does, then yes, you could drop group, wait til end of fight, then kill him.if not, then you could drop group and 3 v 1 him.Either way, the solo-buttoned player has to fight 3 people, in the first case it will be easier of course because they can fight one at a time. You make an interesting point here though because if you could drop group and fight then that would defeat the purpose of solo-button, but if you were locked in combat, then the frustration factor of my first scenario would still be an issue. (the solo player could beat one opponent then run - most people can escape a 1v1 fight if they chose)

What i think would be another solution to the gank-squad problem, is a derogatory title system that reflects this kind of killing. (EG Bully, Needs-a-Group, Can't-Win-Fair)People are so obsessed with their titles (even though they mean absolutely nothing) that I think this kind of disincentive might have a real impact on the ganking.

I dont want 1v1 pvp and I dont want 4 lvl limits. I usually roam as a solo guardian or necro or a lower lvl ranger/assassin/brig. My 2 mains are the guardian and necro - thye get rolled by grps all the time - deal with it if your solo, yhea it sucks, especially if oyu were almost done with that quest. It sucks even more when the same toons rotate 1 person into and out of their grp to farm you for faction, DEAL with it. I dont want 1v1 pvp cuase I know someday, some time I will catch them alone and we will roll them, or my guardian will catch that pathetically impefect ranger and spank his ahrse 1v1 - but it always does not happen that way, sometimes your just alone, and when your alone expect to get ganked. Deal with it. I'd like to see NO lvl limit pvp. I remember being 45 in SS getting rolled by grps of 70's as I was trying to quest there - I took it all expecting 1 day to get my fair share till whiners like you ripped the rug of reveng out from under my feet and lvl limits were instituted.

This game can`t be compared to guerrilla warfare because the mechanics don`t allow a solo player to hit and run against more than oneopponent at a time with any real degree of success. You have next to 0 chance against more than one depending on your class , true guerrilla warfare would allow a good solo player to be ableto fight this way based on technique , to snipe members of groups one by one while moving in and out of skirmishes quickly. This game is gang warfare plain and simple , if you even attempt to get near a group solo you will be hit with the firepower of a half a dozenpeople and there is no way to become mobile enough to evade other than evac which will put you out of the conflict and to far away to be used for guerrilla style tactics. As a counter to the gang mentality , it would be nice to have a few classes that could solo effectively using the ability to snipe group memberswith powerful range attacks , move in and out of skirmishes fast and retreat when necessary. This would be a trade off against those whoprefer to run in numbers but unfortunately even the few scout classes that are meant to be played this way don`t really have the tools to pull it off.Once your spotted by any group there is really no way out of dying unless you have evac which is unrealistic in terms of battle. The idea of running away does not work for most classes , especially with a group of mounts chasing you down . rooting , draining your mana etc. Maybe an improvement of sprint would help but as it stands it just drains power faster than anything. The pvp mechanics in this game force everyone to group for the most part which takes alot of the fun out of it IMHO.Theres nothing glorious about running down a solo player in a group when you know the game gives them no chance to survive.Group versus group is fun , at least in some of the higher level battles Iv`e been in , but those don`t happen very often , funny I keep hearing about how this is such a group oriented game , I guess that means having a group to gang up on solo players with since the game gives them no way to defend themselves.

Well it seems we all agree on the fact its a gang bang game and as for the quote 1v1 button is not giving people the choice is a crazy statment ON!!! OR OFF!! is a choice of the player not the people that want to bang him.

I think that is what you are meaning you want solo players not to have a choice in them being gang banged and just to deal with it why should they theres no skill in ganking no fun and it spoils the game fill stop WHERE IS THE SKILL nowhere thats where.

Yeah, thats a great reason to remove the level ranges..

Dont think they wont do it either. I had a level 70 park his [Removed for Content] at the exile quest mob and he griefed me at least 50 times. I was able to run up to him, hail him once hope i got the right quest because I would be killed by this level 70 before I got a second chance at it. I dealt with it, but its just an example of what would happen if they removed level ranges. I did call for help btw to the other exiles, alas it did no good.

The only solution I see is PvP instances. This would create a clean environment for players to fight each other in a fair fight without destroying the art of eq2 guerrilla warfare. Now THAT I like the sound of, it would be nice to be in a regular zone lavastorm for example but u go to say the arena to enter the pvp instance, choose your zone that you are well acustmed too, and when u enter there are no mobs, but the zone is still the same and u have to find each other, that would work. Kinda like a large scale version of the arena but with pvp rewards
