I bought a new system a few months back when my old got fried in a storm. I am currently running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ @ 2.61 Ghz, 2 Gbs of PC2-4200 Ram, and an Nvidia GeForce 6150SE video card.

With this system I can only run the game at minimal settings and still get a playable frame rate. I play at 1024 x 768 BTW. If I try to play at anything higher than Extreme Performance the game turns into an unplayable stop-motion slideshow. I'm looking to get a new video card but I'm confused by all the options out there. Do I need one of those monster $500.00+ cards to run this game at decent settings or can I can get something closer to the $250-$350 price range? I'd like to be able to run the game at higher than Balanced settings at my chosen screen resolution. (I have vision problems which makes text at higher resolutions really hard for me to read.)

Thanks all.

Right now the best bang for the buck is the 8800gt that was recently released. If I didn't already have an 8800gts, I would have bought two 8800gt's rather than adding an additional 8800gts to my system.
