I've been playing on the other RP server, but while I enjoy PvE on nonroleplay servers, it seems that a roleplay server where you can't fight other people isn't really a RP server. I'm not saying I want to just go and kill indiscriminitely, but if I see an opposing character, I want to be able to do more than /duel and hope they accept. Seems weird to just let the enemy kill the guards, and traipse about freely.

Also, I've read a lot of the threads here about PvP. I want to try something new and different. And, additionally, I think the lower population will do wonders for my 3 year old computer's lag issues, lol. I realize that I'll die, and suck, for a while, but that's fine. I don't think I'll be basing my self image on my toon's PvP record lol.

SO, I was thinking of starting with a monk, or maybe a ranger, but I prefer more of a grouping element, so I haven't made a final decision on what class to play. Hence, this post.

Anyone interested in starting a toon with me? I'm more of a casual player, and do enjoy the occasional soft play session full of story. Or, perhaps you know of a class in short supply that would allow me to fill a niche that needs filling? Or maybe you have a group of friends that all run about together often, but could use some gap filling? My specialty has always been healers (cleric in eq1, mystic in eq2), but I'm up to trying new things, too. I guess what I am saying is, I'll enjoy the game and play more if there are people I can spend time with regularly, and I'm willing to cater to said people's needs classwise to have that.

Anyone interested?

First of all, welcome to Venekor!

I would suggest you make a lil toon, and see what guilds are most active on your playtimes. It seems to me that what you are looking for is a good and active guild. Also, as a new toon without an older main feeding you plat and shinys, you will need the support of a guild and its crafters. There are lots of friendly guilds out there, but I dont know how RoK will affect the number of low lvl toons. Maybe a new little Sarnak will find it easy to find friends? Or maybe people will focus firstly on getting their lvl 70s to 80 before starting a Sarnak.

Best of luck!

/Ramborg

70/100 coercer

guild leader of Norrsken

There are two RP guilds that I know of on the Freep side. Consider the dark side!

Fironia Vies Champions and Tribunal are the two bigger RP guilds Qeynos side on Venny. Both are good guilds with good people in them, so if your looking for a friendly guild that roleplays, check them out. There might be other smaller roleplay guilds out there, but I don't know of them.

Thank you to all that have responded to me, here. I appreciate the info and tips. Still not sure what class is most needed, so I guess I'll just make one that I'll enjoy lol. Still a hard call, though. I imagine there are rangers all over the place, so I'm hesitant to make one even though I have always loved the ability to gain various speed buffs. Not sure I want to play another mystic through all the levels, either. Ah, decisions, decisions.

((Let me say Welcome to Venekor as well. I love it on Venekor and currently have a couple characters plodding ever forward towards 70. After a bit of research and some time spent on both sides (Mikael betrayed at 28ish, Ssinkarra at 25ish and Cailieg at lvl 14 so its not like I bailed on FP early. I will say from from my experience that RP is a bit less abundant on the FP side. In fact a couple times before crossing my Arasai over I saw such mentioned to people in [10-19] when they asked about rp. On the Qeynos side we have a few great rp guilds including but not limited to Firiona Vie's Champions (The guild I am in, very rp, amazingly friendly), Grey Wolves (Love these guys a bit more raid focused I believe though), and a few others, such as the small amount of RPers in Tree whom I know. Wherever you land I hope that you find your place on Venekor. RP-PvP is a great ruleset, you just have to tough out the fact that it is not a RP only server so we do get our fair share of pvp arsehats. Have a great day!))Alexis Diana Dority*smiles*

Yes, sadly the role play on the evil side is a bit more underground than the good side. Often times trying to roleplay in channels causes nothing but grief and arguements and nastiness.

But there is roleplay all around. Shadow Guard, Voices Within, Sabotage, Sanguiphoria and others all promote role play within guild, group and spacial chats.
