I have had my fill of manashielded wizzy's. What are the best tactics that you all have found to take them down easily. I am by far not the best pvp'er (I need a lot more refining of skills and several more pieces of pvp armor) but it is embarrising to have to run from a hunter or slayer wizzy, or worse yet, die to one, when I am sporting a Champion Tag.

Also, are there any potions, or items that you have found can take some of the heat and cold 1K+ spells they toss out while in battle.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Homega

70 Ranger

Naggy

Elemental Reprieve potions will ward against some of the damage but only off the first hit so not really worth using. Other than that would be to get your resistances higher. As for manashield if they resist a pumice stone then best thing is to get out of his range and/or line of sight for 30 secs.Thats the theory anyway but if you stupid like me you will just stand there and try and burn through it and die very quickly

Ya... whats the story with the pumice stone? I have heard it mentioned before, but I have no idea about where to get one and, how to equip or use it.

I have also heard that it does not work, but I am willing to try anything. Can anyone collaborate on the truthfulness to this method.

I forget if you buy them from the city-merchants, or from the PvP merchants. It's one of those though. They don't appear to be working against MS though.

Pumice stone is meant to dispel something like 130 levels of beneficial effects on target. Dont know if they have changed it though now to not work on manashield. It did work on necro's dumbfire pets though They are bought from the pvp guy near the arena in QH (the non class one)

In historic lore Mages were designed to be nigh unbeatable at higher levels. The amount of study and education that they've done in order to attune themselves to the arcane arts is intended to make them unspeakably powerful. Their tradeoff is limited survivability early in life. Ideally in a PvP scenario this means they get beat down enough that the player gets frustrated and rerolls, but if you insist on trying to approach a powerful mage it's not a disgrace to flee from them. No indeed it shows a wisdom of experience.Really what you need to do is use your stuns, knockdowns and roots to interrupt those weaklings right when they're in the middle of casting that big hitter. Surprise is your advantage, and if he gets that element, don't even try. As Cypher said "You do what we do. Run. Run your [Removed for Content] off."
