<p>i took my heatsink off to remove the dust from it. and i nitced there was a thin layer of thermal paste on my 3200+. but anyways i put it back on and tried to put a little on that ossed out the side of the heatsink. but should i get it checked? its running 36c idle and about 38c while doing browsing and on im's and listening to music. is that to high for the following???</p><p>3200+ amd athlon</p><p>7600gt xxx</p><p>1.5 gigs of ram ddr400</p><p>500watt ps</p><p>x2 hd's 80 gig and 160gig</p><p>nvidia chipset</p><p>is my pc running at good temps? or should i go by artic 7 paste?</p>

its running 45c with eq2, media player and Explorer going

I'm sorry is that the AMD Athlon XP 3200+, AMD Athlon 64 x2 3200+ or the AMD Athlon 64 3200+?

So  you have the Athlon 64 3200+ Venice core which has a max 65 degree Celsius temperature.

im about to punch the thing. its been working fine, and now the cpu fan has stoped alarm keeps going off  and when i look its still going. (clear side panel)

<p>That's either one of 2 things,  either your fan isn't connected to the board well or it is running slower than your motherboards monitoring speed.  You can download a program called speedfan to check the speed at which your fan is running.</p><p>If your running 45c under load which is quite good you can go ahead and lower the fan warning on the motherboard if your connection is good.  Some fans do run slower it depends on the model of the fan.</p>

its fine max temp on them are 90c...
