Ok, After GU #36 I was raiding the Throne of New Tunaria and found that the big golems had the most annoying stun buff on them. Our whole raid spent half of their time stunned because of some sort of stunning damage shield he had. This served only to make the fights long and boring. Another Mystic in our raid (Who was playing his scout alt at the time) suggested I try the new an Improved INT line with it's debuff at the end of it on the Golems. So I read the description and sure enough, it reads: "Strips 97 levels of ALL beneficial buffs from a mob and deals xx damage for every buff it strips.) So I respecced thinking I could debuff their stun buff on pull and have a use for the KoS AA's outside the STR line. It did NOTHING. It didn't strip crap. I also tried it to remove "Hunker Down" from another Golem (Did that solo and ate the death just to test). Nothing again. So it's pretty useless and I gave up Aura of Warding, 16% group haste and AE Immunity as well as Dogdog's ability to survive with his innate AE immunity for a debuff that doesn't even debuff Hunker Down??? To add insult to injury, I had to pay 10 gold to get back to where I was when I started. In conclusion: I would like there to be an "Undo" button on the Reset Ability tree option. So that I can check out their changes, and revert when I find they don't work. Thanks (Overall I like the changes, I just think there should be an added function given with the respec button.)

I bet that 10 gold broke the bank.

What do you think the option to repsec is for....that IS the undo button.

this would be great idea but.... it probably won't work.. haven't tried this ability at all, but have read since it was released that it doesn't work like most want it to.

First, yes... 10 gold is a lot to me. I'm A: A Transmuter in training, so I don't have loot to sell. and B: I raid 99% of the time, so I don't MAKE money, I spend it on repairs. Second... What do I think the free respec is for? It's to TRY the AA Modifications out free of charge. Well, It's NOT worth it if the AA Modifications suck. Which these did. I won't bother beta-testing AA Mods if the risky proposition of doing so will cost me 10 gold to undo. That in essence, has defeated the purpose of the free respec.

RustyB wrote:
this would be great idea but.... it probably won't work.. haven't tried this ability at all, but have read since it was released that it doesn't work like most want it to.
There's now a thread in the Mystic class section trying to compile a list of where it works and where it doesn't. Here are the reported successes: Mayong Mistmoore: Caress - Dispelled Loathsome Mark has been removed from Clockwork Menace. Gorging Thoughts has been removed from Clockwork Menace. Here are some reported failures: Mayong: Remarkable Agility - Failed Hardened Constitution - Failed Brute Strength - Failed Dark Caress - Failed... so this looks like 1 report of success, 1 of failure. So I would say that it's "Working as Intended" in that it WILL (Supposedly) strip some buffs, but very few, and certainly not enough to make it worth it.

There is suppost to be a 5 charge respec totem coming out soon. You could have waited for that also.

I could also have waited for some other Mystics to spend the 10 gold (Or 10 plat depending on how recently they had purchased a respec) and wait to see what they say about it. Either option doesn't really give me the ability to test the changes without being screwed out of money or waiting for some (Unverified) totems to come out. While that's a viable alternative, I don't see why it's better than just putting an "Un-Do" button in.

Well, I think that an "UNDO" button (one used after leaving respec NPC) might be abused by folks.....but what I think would be nice is an "UNDO" button while you are respeccing...

Let's say you accidentally click one too many points into an ability - voila hit undo and start over...

Let's say you want to see the ability description for something (which you can only do once you actually gain the ability), and you find you really don't want to go down that lone - voila undo...

This at least affords some mistake-proofing and experimentation, I think...

The spell description says that it removes beneficial mob buffs and does damage when it does. If the stun is not the result of a buff but of a combat art/spell from the mob then it could be working as intended. My next question is, can mobs rebuff themselves if their buffs are removed?

Food for thought.

Mobs generally wont rebuff themselves when a buff is stripped. And yes that is the case. If it removes ONLY magical buffs (something similar to enchanters depsell magic) then it wouldnt remove CA types. Doom Judgment for crusaders also removes beneficial buffs from a mob and lists the buff types it removes. This does work on epics and i have used it to strip buffs from an epic but it all seems that it is only professional type magic abilities. Similar to nukes mobs have buffs that arnt a profession based but unique to them and they wouldnt really be stripped off either.
