Devs: Instead of eliminating exp debt on pvp servers and taking away the penalty of dying for the pve players who are trying to level up...just take out the "disable combat exp" option on the pvp servers and then you solve the problem of level 16s with 30aa. That seems to accomplish the same goal and keeps the pve/pvp balanced. I never understood the point of allowing players to disable their own combat exp anyways. Thanks

If you have not disabled your xp on a PvP server than you are a noob. In order to be competitive in the higher tiers you need to have good PvP gear and the only way to get that gear is to level lock for faction in T2 and T3. All raceing through the levels produces is totally gimped charactor that will get ganked constantly as soon as it dings 60 or 62 and will remain [Removed for Content] even at 70 because the gulf between PvP geared players and non-geared players is huge. If level locking was removed they would have to make alternate ways for players to gear themselves up such as faction writs or something. On a side note PvE players who just want to level up should go play on PvE servers because they will never be happy with PvP rules.

That would work on a fresh server, but not now. As stated the new toons would just be gimped.

Not to mention the fact that not everyone wants to play in the higher tiers. I know I don't. I have a 70 fury on Mistmoore (Narral) that I never play any more because I have having more fun in lower tiered pvp on Nagafen.

If I was forced to just "level up" I would likely just quit EQ2. And no you can't have my stuff.

Simple way to do it. Make killing a player character act like completing a quest and gain xp whether level locked or no.

While it would be a solution, it hardly encourages PvP. Btw you need, what was it, about 1200 kills or so, give or take a hundred or two to get 50k PvP faction and forcing people to have to lvl while doing this will [Removed for Content] them out to the faction they will want at lvl 70.

If pvp is a focal point of your game, even without level locking it is extremely easy to get pvp gear. The only reason people lock low tier is because SOE folded their hand and made pvp gear for level 20s. Before it was all level 40+ and if you pvp'd decently you'd have enough faction by the time you were level 40. My first toon got 2.5k kills in the first week of pvp and had no AA, horrible gear and wasn't level locked. It's not hard you just have to pvp alternatively to killing mobs for your XP. I was only level 28 by the time I quit the toon though.
