But I have to say Darklight Wood is the best starting zone in game and Neriak is also the best city in game hands down.

In response to the OP, I have to agree. This has been some great content, and even better with it being free. Plenty of great quests, and the new evil starting spot having it's own look and feel is a wonderful direction to go in. Keep up the great work guys, I love to see this stuff!!

Yesh, I really love Neriak. =3 I just got past the 'killing elementals' quest, so I haven't explored very much of it yet. I've seen some of Neriak though, and it's very awesome. It's really fun!!

If they let Sarnak betray......it would ruin all of EverQuest's lore for Kunark.

Neriak is quite impressive. The city design is good, and the housing is cool! Also, the quest lines I've seen so far are nice. The Arsai are exactly what I thought they would be, twisted evil Fae. The wing designs are a bit more "evil," but other than that they're pretty much the same. It's what I figured would happen. I'm happy about the extra character slots as well. Although I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to cancel station access and just open a second account when I want more than 7 characters. Unfortunately none of the other SOE games really interest me right now.

/agree great zone, I wish I didnt keep falling down the wells and holes though, as a level 70 it was embarassing to die and respawn at the zone in point several times.

Downside is you lose access to the Adventure Packs if you didn't buy them outright on your original account, and won't get them on your second account without buying them again. And, if you have the upgraded Station Players fluff stuff, you'll be paying $2.99 twice a month for both accounts instead of $2.99 once a month for your Station Access account.

I have gotten a chance to explore most of the rest of the free content, and I am pretty happy. I wish I had more RAM so I could see it in higher quality, but I don't. There was one thing I was hoping for because I thought it would be really cool, but was bummed out when nothing happened. That thing is having a different experience when you're in Neriak with Ultravision. I mean, the base population of the city can see in Ultravision, so you would think that maybe some things would only be visible if you had Ultravision on. I might have missed whatever it was, but for the most part the city looked the same (except purple), and some things were even harder to see (like quest icons). This would have been the perfect city to have it a wall look normal and then when you turn on ultravision see "Get the best wares in the dark business at D'Lith's store of delight!!" Or something along those lines. Maybe in the future we might see that. Otherwise this is pretty cool to get content like this.

They accually, leave thier home to become more powerful. So that they can one day return and retake thier homeland. So you could say that the Sarnak arn't really betraying they are just using the other cities to be closer to that wich they want to kill, to go stronger, and once they have accoplished that they will return to Kunark and free it from the Iksar Empire and refound their origanal city thier.

I know I haven't visted one sence about 2 weeks after FD came out.

I think that the reason it was free, is because it was supposed to be in EoF at release. Luckily, SOE decided to give us what we were supposed to have for free, instead of sneaking it in an X-Pack or an A-Pack.

Neriak is my favorite city so far. Kelethin is a very close second. It is nice to have cities with more of a fantasy feel after having two human cities for so long. Darklight Wood is also one of the best starting areas I have played in so far. A very diverse area with lots to do. I love the direction that the game is going in now. It seems like it is going more in the fantasy direction unlike when it first came out which to me felt like they were trying to make it feel as realistic as possible which can get boring. I am a very happy player now.

I like that fact that several items now have come in like this...one zone or dungeon or instance at a time. It gives everyone a new opportunity to do different things from time to time.

It's nice.

Agree. Kudos to the EQ2 family on this one.

1. The non-zoning in the city makes it by far the most immersive and enjoyable city yet. 2. Neriak's look is outstanding, vibrant, elegant and beautiful, but all the while dark and foreboding. 3. The choice to expand the housing size was an excellent one, and I'm having more fun with my Neriak house than I ever imagined I could--it's my new joy of playing EQ2 and I even made a Carpenter just to continually revamp my house! 4. The zoneless crafting area with the convenient access to the broker and banker is by far the best crafting idea yet. 5. The intra-city portal system is nice. 6. The interesting sub-plots, quests, interweaving of lore, etc. is well done. 7. The black-saddled blue Nightmare horses, and the other blue-flame animals are very nice as well. In fact, I like the inclusion of Trolls and house imps (me wants one!) as well.

My only nit-pick is that access out of the city is quite problematic for PvP. I understand the rationale for portaling to the mage spires, but if the docks provide immunity and everyone else goes to the docks, then it might be a nice touch to have a ship from/to Neriak's docks as well. Or, make the area around the mage-spires a pvp-immunity area. Or, alternatively, have the Dark Bargainers teleport you to/from the Nek/TS docks on the PvP servers. It would only require adding a Dark Bargainer NPC and a portal on those two docks to make it work.

I assume that the Druid Ring in Darklight Woods will be operational soon (as the one in Greater Faydark is already operational). Whenever the Darklight Woods Druid Rings are turned on would be a nice time to fix the Dark Bargainers Neriak portals. Or, if there were time perhaps it could be rolled into the much-needed PvP reforms for GU36?

Quick addition--I thought the mage spires were more of an Erudite thing than a Dark Elf thing ... with the exception of Nektulos Forest because the Thexians were searching so hard to find Neriak. Perhaps it makes as much sense to have the Dark Bargainers portals going to and from the docks as the Erudite mage spires.

I just bought and installed the EoF all-in-one pack. and had a terrible time downloading it with Vista. After several days of frustration (run as administrator, finally), I am just now figuring out the evil fae and Neriak is in a separate download. I am worried after having such a difficult time with the initial set-up that downloading this will screw things up when I just got the chance to play. Has anyone had any issues/problems downloading this free content? From what I have read here it seems worth it for the new city. I don't know how much the fae classes appeal to me but I do like to play the evil side so I imagine I would really enjoy Neriak.
