If there's one thing that makes games look so much more fun, it's the Cinematics that go with them. I've always loved Cinematics in games, especially this one. The first one you guys did for the theaters before the game was released was fairly impressive. So, let's get down to it. Is it at all possible to make another Cinematic for Rise of Kunark? Or, what are the chances of getting another one?

I would have thought they would have done one for EoF seeing how big it was and how much everyone wanted it. It would be great to get another one but i'm doubting we will ut theres always the chance

Wish someone would make a full movie in this way but I know it costs ALOT of money to do so

Yeah, EQ2 is no longer just about Lucan and the bimbo. In fact all the cool things to do no longer revolve around Freeport or Qeynos. Let's see Queen Cristanos gets some screen time. I could see it now, it's bee just like the Ruins of Kunark box cover, except Cristanos would be the iksar and Bimbo Bayle could take Firiona's spot. That would be awesome :p

I like the new name for Antonia....lol Bimbo Bayle

I hope they make a movie that replaces the intro movie we have now. I turned that stupid thing off. They need to show Kunark in War and show Venril Sathir ruling his army...etc.

Yeah, that would work out well.

please no cinematics >.> they are cool but they do not correctly portray gameplay to people. This is just my opinion though... maybe other people like them.

They aren't meant to "portray gameplay". They are there to tell a story.

I say have screentime form all of the currently inhabited cities. Qeynos, Freeport, Maj'Dul, Kelithin, Neriak, and the upcoming City or Cities.

If i can get my video capturing to work right, Im going to make a gameplay video and it would be in commercial type form to help sway my friends into EQ2.

anything , even if they made a In-game vid like the one they had showing EOF , but with Graphic's Maxxed on a realy good comp, would be better then the CIN from release its so so Old and dated

i hated WOW , but the one thing that i did like was the Opening CIN, i watched it numerous times, and then the game loaded and What a Pita lol

It would certainly be appropriate to change that opening movie. The whole focus and direction of the game has changed since it was created, as the poster above noted. Sure, essentially the new cities have been allied with the old ones, but still . . . even in interviews, they talk about how much the direction was changed after launch. Playing down the "bimbo" and Lucan, however... don't they have folks portraying them at cons and stuff now? Didn't we have a whole contest to pick an Antonia? I don't see that all going out the window. A new movie, though, could demonstrate the newer themes and still incorporate the original characters as well. It does seem like it's time.

we should get one with Queen Antonia and Queen Amree in a little war/battle against Overlord Lucan and Queen Cristanos

All for new cinematics. I think they help give you an impression of what the game portrays, if not the gameplay. I remember the videos that came out just before the D'Morte expansion. Very cool.

And is it just me or is the cinematic that plays as the game loads now been censored as I don't remember the flashes of light when the ranger stabbed the undead troll etc.

Sark.

I can't remember why they added in the flashes of light but the original video did not have them.

I'm sure, like a lot of other people i created a new toon with the release of Neriak and the Asari. Now I'm not 100% but my housemate and myself would both swear the movie that plays when you create a new char is MUCH longer with much more info about whats been happing the last 500 years. Check it out for yourselves and lemmy know p.s. its been a while since i actually gave that movie the time of day hehe i normally skip past it to get the the good bits. p.p.s ahh censorship... gotta love it when you can watch god knows what on the tele, but god forbid a little animated battles that imo were very tame in the 1st place be permitted. IMHO censorship is up to parents, not the government. BRING ON PARENTAL CONTROLS and leave me to decide what i want to see...careful guys from what I'm reading, the land of the free is becoming the land of the not so free (sorry bout the off topic bits )

What would you all like to see though, a new cinematic per expansion? I think it would be nice to show how the world has evolved since the original cinematic. It should also show a preview of what's to come to the heroes of Norrath.

A new cinematic per expansion would be great to show how each expansion had altered the world, but producing them is probably a pretty expensive proposition. I would rather see that money go elsewhere on the whole, but I think a new cinematic is needed at this point simply to acknowledge how different the game is now. Unless you are PVP, Freeport vs. Qeynos is pretty much a non-issue, since mixed groups are the norm. Sure, you aggro guards from opposing cities, but the epic confrontation discussed in the movie rarely affects what you are doing in game. The major effects of choosing one city over another are the restriction of certain classes and what your home city's architecture and mood are like, and that's about it. A new cinematic that stressed the exploration of new lands, the encountering of new creatures, etc. might be the way to go.
