...on launch of RoK expansion allow PVE ==> PVP transfers ( T7 raid gear will be useless on lvl 80 ).   DO IT.

<p>Not a chance.   Levelling on a PvP server is such a drastically different experience than a blue one it's not even close to funny.  I can't imagine a bunch of blubies turning up on a PvP server and getting crushed to the point of supreme whineage, and crying foul NERF everything.</p><p> It shouldn't happen, lets pray it never does.</p>

Two TOTALLY different games.  The twain should not mix.

Who cares, let them come, we need the population on all servers.  Just make sure its only free to Station Exchange servers <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I would say allow it just to buff up the population. But on the other hand it is easy for me to say since I havent even hit teir 6 yet. I think this would be more a choice all the teir 6-7 players would have a more informed say on.

In general I think there should be no PvE to PvP transfers, for the reasons already stated...it's a vastly different environment, and we would have a whole bunch of lvl70 noobs who would moan and complain because they can't PvP. Though I do think they should allow a single transfer per account to from PvE to PvP, stripping the character of gear, spells and cash which would allow current established PvPers to bring over a PvE alt (most who go PvP never go back), but put off those who want to 'try' PvP without really knowing what to expect. If you want to try PvP, then you should roll a new character on a PvP server.

I have one comment to this: Those people would be so complete noobs, it would be like letting a bunch of sheep into a fenced wolf reserve. I think many would end up regretting the whole thing, tbh. No offence or anything, but the game environment is really that different. Is that an arguement against opening transfers? No, not really. But I think it was stated somewhere that one of the reasons it's not happening is that PVE and PvP characters are coded differently.

<p>I know it's a different rule set.</p><p>I know that levelling on a PvE server is thoeretically easier than on a PvP server (I suck on both lol).</p><p>But, the best gear on a server comes from the raids, and the very nice PvP gear. So you would think that by allowing the transfers, you are not really going to upset the balance.</p><p>The problem is that there are a number of very well equipped players on the older servers, have been raiding since the game came out, and have got all of the best gear, crates of rares, shinies out of their ears etc etc.</p><p>If one of these players transferred over (bearing in mind, if they wanted to PvP, they have possibly already got a PvP character anyway). They are essentially bringing over the biggest, baddest twink ever! </p><p>I think this is what stops the transfers.</p><p>Personally, I would love transfers to open. I have a Beserker (my very first character), sitting on Lucan, unplayed for the last 18 months, still level 58, who I would dearly love to bring onto the PvP and play again.</p><p>But, just can't see it happening. </p><p>Conversely of course. You could take your PvP character off server (onto PvE) and finish levelling him, join a raid guild and equip him, finish all your shinies easily, get all your rares etc, then bring him back.</p><p>The only way I can ever see PvE to PvP (and vis-a-vis) working, is if they made it a naked transfer. You only get to bring your character. No money. No equipment. No bank. No house. Just the naked character. Oh, and make people pay for it. At least then I could bring over my Zerker, and as I have a lvl 70 here, I can have equipment ready for him.</p>

<p>Really the only problem I can see is if you took someone or a whole guilds worth of people on a blue server that has farmed the crap out of end gear, and brought em over with it all in tact.  Gear can make a big difference, at least for resists, and people that can clear EH are most likely capable of learning to pvp.</p><p>However, let em come over, I want a challenge.  Let them experience that first truely contested mob.  The old arguement of PvP vs PvE gear is really 6 and one half dozen the other.  Some people want full PvE, some want PvP.  It's all a matter of effects, and personal taste.</p>

<p>From what i understand, it isn't even possible.  The coding is so much different for pvp toons vs pve toons with faction and such that a transfer wouldn't work.  <b>BUT i would love to be able to bring a naked no spell having toon over.  I have a 65 i haven't played since pvp launch and can't bring myself to delete it.  Seems would be simple to create a new toon of any level with no gear or skills!  </b></p><p><b>We have discussed this in our guild for months and months...  ONLY option we ever felt was feasible and realistic was coming to pvp totally stripped, just keep level and class.  Just the toon... no money, no house stuffs, no nothing!  I would lose a lot, but would do it in a heartbeat!!!!!  Would take much less time to gear out a 65 than re roll him <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></b></p>

<p>What about letting them keep their cash, spells, and up to legendary gear?  Strip them of fabled gear only.  I don't see a big deal about keeping spells around, since a lot of people have lots of masters now anyways.  If you take away all their gear, spells, and cash, you are basically making them buy plat to get mastercrafted gear before they can leave town.  Keeping them with legendary gear, and like Adept 3's would mean they can get out right away and start killing.  That way someone that doesn't already have a toon here wouldnt be completely crippled.</p><p>And stripping down a persons house is just mean- it doesn't hurt you to keep it around. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

We should let people transfer in from Vanguard. or WoW.

IMO, since the coding is so different, they should just let them "copy" their character to pvp servers.  They earned their gear, it will be obsolete simply by running the first heroic instance in RoK, and we could certainly use a population boost.  Flag the copied toons to no-sell via station exchange.  Gimping their spells would be pointless, they are mostly getting upgraded within the first couple weeks, and when you strip a toon naked, yank its spells, then ask him to grind up and gear up on a pvp server without a leg to stand on, its a bit much. Leveling on pvp servers is completely different than PvE, but don't go acting like PvP is hard and that blue server noobs will get rolled everywhere they go.  Fighting in PvP is no different then fighting the mobs, except that you have to actually react to what the enemy does.  They can pick it up fast, and will be competition just like everyone else out there within days.

That would keep all the supertwinked 70's from coming in...
